Reminiscent of artists such as James Blake in his swirling production and Joni Mitchell in the brutal honesty of her lyrical content, Joshua invents his own fluid medium of internalizing the end of a relationship. Pacing the floor of an empty room, the viewer follows his contemplation of loneliness until pleasantly greeted with a faceless stranger. 'This song is about a random encounter I had with someone,' Joshua recounts the original inspiration for the song, 'It was a realization that I had been closed off and numb with other people up until that point and an indicator that I was moving on.' While Joshua may have reconciled with his heartbreak, the beauty of the destruction is monumentalized. The video was directed by Brandon Mercer.

Honoring musical icon Joni Mitchell's legacy and 75th birthday, Decca Records will release The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebrationon March 8, 2019. On Joni's 75th birthday last November, a star-studded roster of musicians gathered together to pay tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter. The evening was recorded and is now subsequently being released. It features performances by Brandi Carlile; Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; James Taylor; Seal; Rufus Wainwright; and more. Singer/songwriter and five-time Grammy Award winner Michael McDonald is set to hit the road this summer for a co-headlining U.S. tour with R&B legend Chaka Khan. Tour highlights include performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Chicago's Ravinia Festival. The San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) is pleased to reveal the full schedule of performances for the 2019 Festival that will run from May 23 - June 2 and have as a central theme The Path to Democracy. As the dark clouds of nationalism and fascism re-assert themselves on the global stage, SFIAF looks at some of the struggles for democracy past and present and how they manifest themselves in different cultures. The Festival will take place at, and in partnership with, the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture.

Bay Area Cabaret welcomes back world-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli and singer Jessica Molaskey, a duo Time Magazine calls the "Astaire-Rodgers of the cabaret world." Bay Area Cabaret audiences will have the chance to see, or choose between, two varied programs:  The first, at 3:30 is a centennial tribute to Nat King Cole, a Venetian Room regular, whose work is celebrated on Mr. Pizzarelli's upcoming CD, Centenially Yours. The second show, American Stories, at 7:30, is a duo show by John and his talented wife Jessica that debuted at Cafe Carlyle and features an eclectic mix of music by George and Ira Gershwin, Johnny Mercer, Paul Simon, Stephen Sondheim, Stevie Nicks and the couple's signature mashups and medleys. Aligned both in their love of the American Songbook and their desire to expand and present it to new audiences, Bay Area Cabaret and John Pizzarelli and his wife Jessica enjoy a partnership that reaches back well over a decade.

Philadelphia Theatre Company will kick off the new year welcoming one of the greatest living American musical theatre composers to the stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. For one-night only, Jason Robert Brown will perform an intimate solo concert today, January 26, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Due to audience demand, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces the second extension of Guitar Girls, which honors some of the greatest female singer-songwriters from the past century, is now playing through April 14. Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter and Grammy Hall-of-Famer, Judy Collins will be honored at the 34th Annual Bistro Awards on Monday, March 11, where she will be receiving the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bistro Awards' highest honor, for her six decades of musical accomplishments.

German deep-house producer Peer Kusiv, shared his remix of British singer-songwriter Chantitown's title single, 'Cause And The Cure', which will be released on 25th January, 2019 alongside remixes by German producer and DJ Manuel Tur. Hailing from the German port city of Kiel, Peer Kusiv has seen support from noteworthy publications like Dancing Astronaut, VICE's music channel Thump and Earmilk. EPIX has greenlit Laurel Canyon, a feature-length documentary that will pull back the curtain on a mythical world and provide an up-close look at the lives of the musicians who inhabited it. Through a wealth of rare and newly unearthed footage and audio recordings, the documentary will feature an intimate portrait of the artists who created a music revolution that would change popular culture. Alison Ellwood (History of the Eagles) will direct the feature-length film, which will premiere in late 2019 on EPIX.

Billy Idol and Steve Stevens, one of rock's most iconic and enduring duos, will hit the road this March for their first ever tour performing as a duo. The North American tour, titled “Turned On, Tuned In and Unplugged,” begins on March 3 at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, and include stops at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, Los Angeles' Theater at The Ace Hotel, New York's Town Hall and more. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and CBC are thrilled to announce legendary singer-songwriter Corey Hart as the 2019 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.  Hart, who has sold over 16 million albums worldwide, will be officially inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame during The 2019 JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 17. To celebrate his induction, Hart will take the stage at Budweiser Gardens to perform on live television for the first time in over 20 years.
