Today Wolverhampton Grand Theatre announced a brand new season, including the touring production of sell-out West End musical FUNNY GIRL.

Jamie Wilson and the Leicester Curve's new production of Sister Act contains all of the ingredients for a smash-hit musical: a star director, a celebrity lead, a well-known, beloved story based on a popular film, and a plethora of sequins and catchy tunes.  Based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act follows the story of Deloris Van Cartier, an aspiring Philadelphia club singer. When Doloris witnesses her mobster boyfriend Curtis commit murder, she rushes to the police and old high school friend, Eddie, hides her in the one place she surely won't be found: a convent. The Mother Superior abhors Deloris' outspoken and extravagant nature. However, Deloris soon forms a close bond with the other sisters, transforming their pitiful choir with soul and funk versions of their usual hymns. When the convent choir's growing popularity puts Deloris' safety at risk, the sisters and even Mother Superior risk everything to protect her. 

A sparkling new production of The Wedding Singer starring Barbara Rafferty, Jon Robyns, Ray Quinn, Cassie Compton, Roxanne Pallett will make an appearance at the King's in Glasgow from Tuesday 18 April for five nights as part of major UK tour.

The Curve's all new production of the hit musical comedy SISTER ACT, directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, opens tonight 30 July 2016.

Step back in time and get ready for the biggest party in town! A sparkling new production of THE WEDDING SINGER will tour the UK in 2017 opening on Monday 6 February at Leicester Curve. Jon Robyns, Ray Quinn, Cassie Compton, Roxanne Pallett and Ruth Madoc will star in the hilarious musical based on the hit film.

Jon Robyns has had a sensational career in musical theatre over the last twelve years and has a CV that most performers could only dream of. He had had leading roles in productions such as Avenue Q, Les Miserables, Spamalot and Memphis to name but a few. Currently, he is playing Emmett Forrest in Curve's production of Legally Blonde in Leicester. BWW:UK speak to Robyns about his time on the show thus far, as well as career highlights and future goals.

Curve is delighted to announce its new production of the award-winning West End and Broadway smash hit musical comedy Legally Blonde, playing at the theatre until Saturday the 14th May, will embark upon a two week run at Deagu Opera House in South Korea.
