The new Broadway musical Baby It's You! tells the inspiring story of Florence Greenberg, the woman who changed the recording world forever when she discovered The Shirelles and created Scepter Records, becoming the music industry's first female powerhouse. Starring Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Greenberg, conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutrux and Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, Baby It's You! begins performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) Saturday, March 26, 2011, and opens Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 6:30pm. Baby It's You! features a cast of 19 that includes Allan Louis, Geno Henderson, Erica Ash, Kelli Barrett, Kyra DaCosta, Crystal Starr Knighton, Barry Pearl, Christina Sajous, Brandon Uranowitz, Alison Cimmet, Erica Dorfler, Berlando Drake, Adam Heller, Jahi A. Presidents' Day Weekend, February 17-20, 2011, will again be the time for mainstream jazz lovers from around the country (& world) to arrive in Newport Beach for 'Right Down The Middle And Straight Ahead' Jazz at the Marriott Newport Beach Hotel & Spa. The party will again center on a large stage nightly at 7:00pm (Thursday at 8:00pm) with reserved seating providing a near perfect mix of concert conditions and intimacy of a club setting, all in the Grand Pacific Ballroom.

New York's Cafe Carlyle comes to life in San Francisco when Bay Area Cabaret presents the winners of New York's coveted Nightlife Award, jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli and his wife, Broadway star Jessica Molaskey (Tommy, Sunday in the Park with George).

On October 14, 2011, The New York Pops orchestra - famous for presenting popular music with a symphony orchestra of the highest quality - will launch its 29th season; a Carnegie Hall series celebrating the stylistic diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons.

Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook, which explores the best of the golden age of musical standards through to the best in current songwriting, will bring to the stage some of today's most gifted interpreters of song. Week Three is a Grammy Awards fest, as three of the four acts are current and past nominees. On February 2nd one can experience life in the Piedmont hills of the Carolinas via the vibrant sound of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. This three-piece string band plays old-time roots music with virtuoso playing of the banjo, fiddle, guitar, harmonica, jug and more. Next up is the crown princess of bossa nova, Bebel Gilberto. Gilberto has taken classic bossa nova rhythms and mixed them with modern pop - for a sound that is up for a Grammy this year. On February 4th perennial Grammy nominee Joan Osborne will perform an emotionally-charged work she has written with Jack Petruzzelli: Love and Hate - A Song Cycle. On February 5th, actress/singer Anika Noni Rose, a Tony winner for Caroline, Or Change, will make her eagerly-anticipated solo concert debut.

The Carlyle Hotel (Erich Steinbock, Managing Director) welcomed two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole to the legendary Café Carlyle for her fourth engagement in the iconic New York venue last night, January 11th, 2011 (and playing through Saturday, January 29th), Ms. Ebersole presents an all new program -- an eclectic musical evening on the subjects of Hollywood, family...and aging. The multiple Emmy-Award winning Bruce Vilanch has been announced as the host of the 9th Annual Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall. The unique All-Performance Awards show that honors the most outstanding performers in The categories of Cabaret, Comedy and Jazz in the clubs of New York, will take place on January 31, 2011. Presenters for the event have not yet been announced.

Three New York master luthiers, renowned for their hand-carved stringed instruments-particularly their archtop guitars, which have been sought after by many of the most important guitarists of the last century-will be the subject of Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York, on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from February 9 through July 4, 2011. Featuring the extraordinary guitars of John D'Angelico, James D'Aquisto, and John Monteleone, this unprecedented exhibition of approximately 80 musical instruments will focus on the work of these modern-day master craftsmen and their roots in a long tradition of stringed instrument-making that has thrived for more than 400 years and that was first brought to New York from Italy around the turn of the 20th century.

Week Two starts on January 26th with a tribute to arguably the greatest songwriting team in American Songbook history: the brothers George and Ira Gershwin. Conductor, arranger and pianist (as well as Artistic Director of the Gershwin centenary) Rob Fisher will lead Victoria Clark (Tony winner for Light in the Piazza) and Norm Lewis (Les Miserables, The Little Mermaid) in a night of gorgeous Gershwin. On January 27th singer/songwriter Shara Worden (from the group My Brightest Diamond) performs her unique blend of vocal music that has her pegged as a star to watch. Gavin Creel is set to perform his new cabaret, Back to New York at Birdland on Mondays, November 1, 8, and 15 at 7pm. Creel is returning from appearing in the West End production of Hair after appearing in the Broadway production last year. Creel has also appeared on Broadway in Thorougly Modern Millie.

Pizzarelli's performance will feature music from his latest album, Rockin' in Rhythm, a tribute to jazz pianist/composer Duke Ellington, whom Pizzarelli calls 'jazz's greatest star!' Songs such as 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore,' 'I'm Beginning to See the Light,' 'Satin Doll' and 'In My Solitude' are re-interpreted with Pizzarelli's trademark style and personality, but with great respect towards the original compositions.
