The Grand Theater and Salt Lake Film Society present a free screening of the film "The Crucible", Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 1575 South State Street. This 1996 film, starring Winona Ryder as Abigail Williams, Daniel Day-Lewis as John Proctor, and Joan Allen as Elizabeth Proctor is set in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts. Adapted from the Arthur Miller classic play of the same name, "The Crucible" tells the story of a spurned young woman who accuses an ex-lover's wife of witchery. Joan Allen won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in this film.

This winter Matt Murphy Productions presents its fourth national tour of Virtually Me! (www.virtuallyme.org). Taking place at Wi-Fi High in Anywhere, USA, Virtually Me! is an entirely original, educational musical for today's blogging, emailing, Facebooking, IM'ing, and texting generation. Originally directed by Jeremy Dobrish, this touring production has been remounted by Gina Rattan, and features choreography by Wendy Seyb, music by Jeff Thomson, lyrics by Jordan Mann, and a book by Jeremy Desmon and Jeremy Dobrish.

Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Julianna Margulies will be the guest of honor at the third annual Steppenwolf Salutes WOMEN IN THE ARTS fundraising luncheon on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Noon at The Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph St. Ms. Margulies, who currently stars in the hit CBS drama The Good Wife, will be interviewed about her stage, television and film career by Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey in a format similar to Inside the Actors Studio.

Fountain House, an internationally recognized organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental illness, last night hosted a staged reading of Daughter of the Queen of Sheba, headlining celebrated actresses Joan Allen and Lauren Ambrose, with appearances by noted actor and screenwriter Dan Futterman and theatre, film and television actor David AaRon Baker. The one-night-only performance, based upon the acclaimed memoir by NPR'sJacki Lyden that recounts her experience growing up with a colorful and dramatic mother living with manic depression, drew a full house to the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, located at 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues in New York City. The production is an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v. A memorial celebration of Broadway producer Randall L. Wreghitt's life will be held at the Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) on Thursday, September 15th at 1PM. The memorial is open to the public and doors open at 12:30pm.
