Off-Broadway's CHURCHILL Sets July 4th Schedule

Off-Broadway's hit play CHURCHILL will play a special 4th of July schedule next week at New World Stages. There will be no evening performance on Saturday the 4th and a special holiday matinee has been added on Friday, July 3rd at 2:30 PM.

Off-Broadway's hit play CHURCHILL is set to reopen where it began its phenomenal journey, with performances beginning July 17th at Chicago's Greenhouse Theater Center. The show will conclude its current smash engagement at New World Stages July 12th, where it opened on February 18th to unanimous rave reviews led by CBS Radio which declared, 'Ronald Keaton evokes a transcendent greatness that was Winston Churchill!' The production recently recouped its entire investment well before completing its New York run. Under the direction of Kurt Johns, CHURCHILL is based on the life and writings of one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th Century.

New York: DEEP Arts in association with The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents the NY Premiere of Moses Man with book & lyrics by Deborah Haber and music by Casey Filiaci, directed by Michael Bush. The show will be feature choreography by Wendy Seyb with musical direction by Don Kot. Moses Man will play from July 8-13, 2015 at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).

The Harvard Club of New York presented a very special event on May 26th featuring a performance and conversation with Ronald Keaton, star and author of the smash hit Off-Broadway play CHURCHILL. The evening was moderated by CHURCHILL's assistant director Tricia McDermott and culminated in a stimulating Q&A with the audience. Based on the life and writings of one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th Century, CHURCHILL opened at New World Stages on February 18th to unanimous rave reviews led by CBS Radio which declared, 'Ronald Keaton evokes a transcendent greatness that was Winston Churchill!' In this highly charged new play directed by Kurt Johns, Churchill discusses his failures and his successes; his love of art, liquor and women; and the bravery of Britain's finest hour.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announces the 2015 Round 3 Cycle A recipients of the Leadership U[niversity]-Continuing Ed program. Through the support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, grants of up to $5,000 will support four mid-career and veteran theatre professionals at TCG Member Theatres for learning opportunities to advance their leadership skills. The goal of this program is to strengthen the field by developing the individuals who are the core and the future of theatre.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary season with Sticky Traps, a powerful new play by KC Rep's Playwright in Residence, Nathan Louis Jackson, Directed by Resident Director, Kyle Hatley. Sticky Traps focuses on a small town not far from Kansas City, where a mother protects her gay son's honor when his funeral is protested by a local church. Her actions have unintended consequences that will test her whole family - and the power of their love -- in the face of hate. The production begins tonight, April 24th and runs through Sunday, May 24th at Copaken Stage in downtown Kansas City.
