Coming of Age, a theatrical song cycle - a collection of short stories about growing up - will have its New York premiere this summer as an Official Selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) celebrating its 11th Anniversary Season. With a book, music and lyrics by Jon Provan, Coming of Age will be presented at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Aves.). Directed by Ryan Pifher, performances will begin on July 7th and continue through July 13th.

Tonight, June 16, 2014 at 7:00pm, BroadwayWorld.com continues its 2014 concert series at legendary cabaret venue Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, hosting a uniquely contemporary evening celebrating the music of the two most important and influential composers on Broadway in the modern age, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim, all to benefit the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

Multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the epic Broadway Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II musical, SOUTH PACIFIC. Winner of 10 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this ground-breaking musical based on James A. Michener's 1927 Pulitzer Prize-winning book Tales of the South Pacific, features such iconic hits as Some Enchanted Evening, Younger Than Springtime, There Is Nothing Like a Dame, Bali Ha'i, and I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair. SOUTH PACIFIC will be directed by Milissa Carey, with musical direction by Mark Hanson and choreography by Michael Ryken and plays July 24 through August 10 in the Smithwick Theatre, Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Rd., Los Altos Hills. According to The New York Times, City Center has set the 2015 Encores! 2015, which will open with George and Ira Gershwin's first complete musical, LADY, BE GOOD,. Performances are slated to begin on Feb. 4, and run through Feb. 8.

Less than twenty four hours after celebrating the opening of Grease at Paper Mill, we found ourselves back in tech! This time, our sleepy cast was standing on the deck of the sparkling Skirball Center, preparing to honor Pat Birch at this year's Fred and Adele Astaire Awards. Birch is, of course, the five-time Tony Award nominee and two-time Emmy Award-winning choreographer who staged the musical numbers for original Broadway production of Grease, and both subsequent films. At the Astaire Awards, she was being honored with the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award.

It was like a scene from Neil Simon's "The Sunshine Boys." `I came from the people; they need to adore me /So Christian Dior me from my head to my toes.' What kind of a lyric is that?" kvetched lyricist Fred Ebb as he got into the taxi. "You remembered it," quipped his songwriting partner, composer John Kander, with a shrug. The song? "Rainbow High." The show? "Evita."
