Imelda Staunton will star as the indomitable Momma Rose in the West End transfer of Jonathan Kent's five star sell-out Chichester Festival Theatre production of Gypsy, the first to be seen in London for forty years. This strictly limited season opens at the Savoy Theatre on 15 April 2015 with previews from 28 March 2015 (7.30pm). Further casting for Gypsy, which goes on sale today, 18 December 2014, will be announced shortly.

Confirming earlier reports that Chichester Festival Theatre's GYPSY, starring Imelda Staunton as 'Mama Rose', would debut in the West End this spring, the Daily Mail writes that the musical will officially bow on March 30 and run through November 28, 2015 at the Savoy Theatre. This will be the first time GYPSY has appeared in London in 40 years.

Burlesque dancer, model, fashion icon and lingerie designer Dita Von Teese will appear at the Julien's Auctions 'Icons & Idols: Hollywood' Press Event on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Julien's Auctions Beverly Hills Gallery located at 9665 Wilshire Boulevard. Von Teese, who is widely known to have helped re-popularize burlesque performance, will celebrate the woman who originally created the art, the most famous name in burlesque, Gypsy Rose Lee. Von Teese will appear exclusively for media and will host the Eclectic Collection of Gypsy Rose Lee which will go up for auction on Friday, December 5, 2014.

This evening, the Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye wrote an update on the musical's West End negotiations -- GYPSY is now eyeing a spring slot (late March) at the Savoy.

Gypsy Rose Lee perfected the striptease that emphasized the tease and avoided an actual reveal. THE BLACKLIST has copied her style – when will we get any concrete information on Elizabeth Keen? This week, we managed to learn only that she isn't Red's missing daughter, Jennifer. In non-Keen news, we learned that Naomi's real name is Carla and that Red was a lousy husband. Perhaps we should discuss government mind control programs instead. That's Red's solution to these issues.
