The Coolidge Corner Theatre and the Huntington Theatre Company announce that they are collaborating on a new series called Stage & Screen to explore the depictions of shared themes in upcoming Huntington productions and acclaimed films. Throughout the 2012-2013 season, Huntington artists will appear at the Coolidge to discuss the films that inspire and impact their work and the different ways in which film and theater can enlighten and inform audiences.

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures in association with Unique Features and Jujamcyn Theaters announced today that Jordan Gelber (Avenue Q, All My Sons) will play Broadway's favorite elf, 'Buddy' in the hit holiday musical ELF. He will be joined by Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) as 'Jovie' and Mitchell Sink as 'Michael' in his Broadway debut.

Mark Blum has joined the cast of The New Group's The Good Mother, written by Francine Volpe and directed by Scott Elliott. He joins Darren Goldstein, Gretchen Mol, Alfredo Narciso and Eric Nelsen in the premiere of this new play, replacing the previously announced Bill Sage, who had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict prior to start of rehearsals. Mark Blum's Broadway credits include Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Twelve Angry Men, A Thousand Clowns, Lost in Yonkers, and more. He has appeared previously at The New Group in Wallace Shawn and Allen Shawn's play/opera The Music Teacher, among others.

Ted Seifman Productions will present the industry reading of Damage Control, a new comedy by Douglas Braverman (author of Dalliance in Vienna and Snowman) and starring Jackie Hoffman, Nancy Opel, Stephen Buntrock, and Jeffrey Schecter, on Monday, October 15th, 1:30pm, at The Theatre at Sofia's, 221 West 46th Street, New York City. The production will be directed by Mark Waldrop.

The Old Globe presents the San Diego Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, the award-winning play about class divisions in modern-day Boston. Directed by Paul Mullins, Good People runs now through Oct. 28, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Founder & Artistic Director), in association with Innocence Project, Marc & Steven Kaplan, and Cheryl Wiesenfeld, will welcome Michael McKean (Gore Vidal's The Best Man) and Brooke Shields (The Addam's Family) to the rotating cast of the 10th anniversary production of the hit, award-winning play, The Exonerated, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, beginning October 2nd through October 7th at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette Street) where performances began September 15th for a limited seven-week engagement through November 4th.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fred Willard, Michael McKean and Ed Begley Jr. have joined the cast of Christopher Guest's new HBO docu-style comedy FAMILY TREE in recurring roles.

As first reported on Deadline, John Larroquette has joined NBC's midseason drama series INFAMOUS in a recurring role. The five-time Emmy winner joins previously announced cast members Victor Garber and Meagan Good.

Based on the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok (The Chosen), My Name is Asher Lev, a new play by Aaron Posner, will begin performances at the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street) on November 8. Opening night is set for November 28.

Knight, currently starring in TV Land's "The Exes," is perhaps best known to audiences as Jerry Seinfeld's arch nemesis "Newman" on the Emmy Award-winning hit comedy "Seinfeld." Knight's credits also include Jurassic Park, Toy Story 2, Space Jam and "3rd Rock from the Sun," among many others.

According to ArtInfo, Rupert Holmes' stage adaptation of John Grisham's novel A Time to Kill is headed to Broadway with lead producer Daryl Roth. Casting is currently underway, and the production hopes to take the stage in spring or summer of 2013.

The New Group will present the first production in its 2012-2013 season, the world premiere of The Good Mother, a new play by Francine Volpe. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Darren Goldstein, Gretchen Mol, Alfredo Narciso, Eric Nelsen and Bill Sage. Previews begin October 29 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00pm. The Theatre School at DePaul University's Showcase Series of Contemporary Plays and Classics presents SPRING AWAKENING, book & lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, based on the play by Wedekind, with musical direction by Mark Elliot, and directed by Damon Kiely. This rock musical premieres on Friday, September 28, and runs through Sunday, October 7, 2012, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on September 26 and 27, at 7:30 PM.
