In conjunction with the centennial of John Cage's birth, artistic director Petr Kotik and S.E.M. Ensemble, Inc present "BEYOND CAGE - John Cage at 100 / Music at 2012", a festival highlighting some of Cage's most significant works and his legacy in the music of our time.

John Arthur Pinckard, the Tony Award-Winning Producer of Yeast Nation and Clybourne Park, has joined with The New Colony, Chicago's 2011 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theater Award-recipient, to announce the New York Premiere of the critically-acclaimed 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE. Written by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder and directed by Sarah Gitenstein, performances will run August 10 -16 at The New York International Fringe Festival.

ICT artistic director caryn desai directs the West Coast premiere of the Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award-winning Ghost-Writer, an intimate spine-tingler from playwright Michael Hollinger(Opus). Tonight, May 24 at 8pm, composer and vocalist Lisa Bielawa will present a concert with friends from the chorus of Einstein on the Beach at The Stone (Avenue C and 2nd Street, NYC), as part of a series of performances at the East Village venue curated by Gyan Riley. Lisa Bielawa is the choirmaster of Philip Glass and Robert Wilson's monumental opera, currently touring worldwide. The singers are preparing for their appearance at The Stone, which features vocal music by Bielawa, while on the road together.

The Camp Broadway Kids, which is comprised of 58 theatre-loving kids, ages 12-16, are set to perform in the New York Pops 29th Birthday Gala titled 'Journey On' at Carnegie Hall on Monday, April 30. Under the direction of Camp Broadway's Artistic Director,Tony Parise (Broadway credits include Me and My Girl and 42nd Street), the cast, which was selected from a nation-wide pool of over 500 auditionees, will perform alongside Broadway stars during musical numbers honoring the work of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated songwriting team of such renowned Broadway musicals as Ragtime, Once On This Island, Seussical, My Favorite Year, A Man of No Importance, The Glorious Ones and the feature film Anastasia.

Symphony Space's Gertrude Stein's Paris, a month-long, multi-disciplinary festival devoted to the vibrant cultural milieu of Gertrude Stein's Paris, continues tonight, April 27 with two fully staged productions devoted to the inspiration Stein's work had on vocal and operatic repertoire. Encompass New Opera Theatre will present two one-act operas based on texts by Stein, Virgil Thomson's Capital Capitals and Ned Rorem's Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters. Directed by Nancy Rhodes, this salute to Stein's work through American opera is a fresh examination of the influence Stein has had throughout the arts.
