The end of summer marks the close of the classical repertory season at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum. However, the Botanicum continues its theatrical exploration by supporting new artistic voices through its ongoing development series for playwrights, 'Botanicum Seedlings.' The program's fall playreadings are Brett Webster's Lost and Found in the Underground on Sunday, November 2 and Nude and Sunflower by Reba Waters Thomas on Sunday, November 9. Readings begin at 1 pm and admission is free.

'As You Like It' Opens In Topanga 6/1

Two pairs of disaffected brothers are at the heart of As You Like It, inspiring director Ellen Geer to reset William Shakespeare's witty adventure in the divided South of the post-Civil War era. Rosalind and Orlando's celebrated courtship is played out against a backdrop of political rivalry, banishment and exile, opening The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum's 2008 Summer Season on Sunday, June 1. Performances continue every Sunday afternoon at 3 pm through September 28 in the Theatricum's 299-seat outdoor amphitheater carved into the Topanga Canyon hillside.

The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, in Topanga, CA, has announced its 2007 Summer Repertory Season. The four main stage plays set for the season include Shakespeare's The Tempest (June 3 - September 30); and the returning A Midsummer Night's Dream (June 9 - July 21 and Sept 2 - 30); Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit (June 30 - September 29); and the world premiere of Ellen Geer's adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula (July 28 - September 29).
