Florida Studio Theatre's Summer Cabaret Season will present the best of Sammy Cahn in 'Come Fly With Me!' The Sammy Cahn Songbook, the interactive sleight of hand show, The CardShark, and the energetic and inventive female trio, The GiGi's.

Sage Inn & Lounge (www.sageinnptown.com), Cape Cod's leading destination for food enthusiasts, today announced that the American Songbook, the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century, will be performed live at the Sage Lounge from July 3 through October 14 during their Great American Songbook Series. Four carefully selected acts-Cat Faulkner, Marcus Simeone and Tracy Stark, Karen Oberlin, Tedd Firth and Kate Ferber-will be bringing these iconic favorites to Provincetown.

The legendary lyrical talent of Sammy Cahn takes center stage in FST's first Summer Cabaret production, "Come Fly With Me!" The Sammy Cahn Songbook. With lyrics by Sammy Cahn, music by Jule Styne & Jimmy Van Heusen, this dynamic cast of four will perform from June 14 through July 17 in the John C. Court Cabaret. Yeehah! Birmingham's oldest Musical Theatre Company BMOS is celebrating its 130th anniversary -  with a return to the stage at the New Alexandra Theatre. Birmingham Midland and Operatic Society, which launched in 1886, will bring a brand new production of Calamity Jane to the venue from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 June 2016. 

My association with Scott Dreier dates back to a cabaret for his first album named aptly Scott Dreier.  I was exceedingly impressed with his fine voice, boyish charm and affability.Then followed his show Doris and Me, which I reviewed once in Escondido and later in Los Angeles. The show about Doris Day and his love for her went beyond what I would call an ordinary cabaret presentation. He literally blew me away. It is really two shows in one: a biography of Doris's career told through the songs she made famous and then a semi-biography of Dreier, who grew up from a young age loving Doris Day, her songs, and her movies. It is the second show that makes it all work so beautifully, because, as fans of Doris Day, we see and appreciate the effects that her persona has had on all of us. As an individual Scott Dreier is expressing what we all feel, that intense love and admiration for one of the greatest screen legends of all time.

Actress/singer Rumer Willis returns to New York City with her spellbinding debut at Cafe Carlyle. That Touch of Mink (1962), a romantic comedy with the iconic Cary Grant. The Thrill of It All (1963), a romantic comedy with wry, handsome leading man James Garner. Move Over Darling (1964), a comedy film, her second with Garner. And, Send Me No Flowers (1964), her third film, a comedy, with Hudson. Day was one of the top box office and pop stars of the '50s and '60s, In all, she appeared in 39 feature films.
