The Chicago Philharmonic announces its 2016-17 season: Love. Throughout five concerts, the season explores orchestral favorites and lesser known offerings representing varying expressions of love. Guest performers include conductor Gerhardt Zimmermann, Visceral Dance Chicago, and a range of renowned vocalists and instrumental soloists. Scott Speck leads the orchestra in his fourth season as artistic director.

MusicaNova Orchestra will postpone its April 10th performance of Dmitri Shostakovich's grand Symphony No. 7 'Leningrad' until the opening of its 2016-17 season in October 2016, replacing it in the current season with a free concert featuring the world premiere of two vocal works.  Production issues with the Shostakovich work necessitate the change.

The legendary Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall this February for three consecutive concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage conducted by Valery Gergiev. During each of the three concerts, the orchestra highlights the music of Richard Wagner, beginning with the Overture to Der fliegende Hollander on the first program on Friday, February 26 at 8:00 p.m., which is heard alongside Debussy's La mer and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition (orch. Ravel).

Boston, MA - The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, opens its 20th anniversary season with Resilient Voices: 1915-­2015, a concert commemorating the centennial of the Armenian genocide, in collaboration with Friends of Armenian Culture Society.
