On November 17, 2017, the Auditorium Theatre and popular Chicago vocalist Joan Curto celebrate the legacies and centennials of vocal icons Ella Fitzgerald and Lena Horne with Ella & Lena: The Ladies and Their Music, an evening created and directed by Curto.

getTV will honor the memories of legendary comedy stars Jerry Lewis, who died August 20 at age 91, and Dick Gregory, who died August 19 at age 84, with a special programming bloc of television appearances by Lewis, Gregory and other comic superstars on Sunday, September 3, beginning at 10PM ET/9 CT.  Lewis who rose to fame as singer/straight man Dean Martin's partner, then went onto write, produce and direct himself in a run of successful slapstick comedy films while raising money and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Gregory was a groundbreaking African-American standup comedian and satirist who became a leading figure in in the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Lincoln Center Out of Doors, one of the country's longest-running free outdoor summer festivals, opens this year on July 26 and runs through August 13. AVA Digital Awards announced winners for the 2017 international awards competition. There were about 2,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and 16 other countries. Media personality Shefik, a native of New York, has won a total of five awards in the competition for his nationally-syndicated terrestrial radio show, 'Shefik presents Invocation'.
