Single Ticket Saturday Set for 8/16 at RiverCenter

Critically acclaimed choreographers Larry Keigwin and Jerry Mitchell will host the 20th Anniversary of Fire Island Dance Festival (#fidance), the most anticipated cultural event of the season on Fire Island. Some of the most-talked-about dancers and dance companies will perform an exciting mix of Broadway, ballet, Hawaiian and modern dance July 18-20. Since its humble beginnings in 1995 with seven dancers on a makeshift stage, the festival has grown to become the charitable event of the summer in Fire Island Pines, raising more than $3.3 million. The festival is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The National YoungArts Foundation, with the generous support of The Related Group, announces the inauguration of the YoungArts Residency in Visual Arts, the first of several residency programs in the visual, literary, design and performing arts the organization is developing as it expands its support of the next generation of artists in the United States and strengthens its place as a creative-catalyst for Miami's growing cultural landscape. The YoungArts Residency in Visual Arts will be extended to at least three outstanding visual artists a year, offering them the opportunity to become immersed in the Miami community while developing their work. The program will welcome the accomplished painter Suzanne McClelland as the inaugural artist in residence starting in June 2014.

Following yesterday's matinee, the cast and band of Broadway's After Midnight paraded to 47th and Broadway where West 47th Street was renamed 'DUKE ELLINGTON WAY' in an official Street Sign Unveiling Ceremony at the corner of 47th and Broadway. Musicians from the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars (including Arthur Baron, one of the last surviving members from Ellington's orchestra) played two Ellington favorites for all of Times Square, in celebration. YoungArts Winners from 12 States Named 2014 US Presidential Scholars in the Arts

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) congratulates the 50th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, announced today by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The 20 Scholars in the Arts, all 2014 YoungArts Winners, were nominated to The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars by YoungArts, and selected based on academic, civic and artistic achievement. The award, presented on behalf of the President of the United States, is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an artistically talented graduating high school senior. Each year, up to 141 high school seniors are recognized as U.S. Presidential Scholars for their accomplishments.

Joffrey Ballet's WINNING WORKS: CHOREOGRAPHERS OF COLOR AWARDS 2014 Set for Tonight

The upcoming performance of Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Award by The Joffrey Academy of Dance has changed venues due to last week's electrical fire at the Harris Theater, an event unrelated to the Winning Works production. The production will now take place at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut Street, and the date and time of the performance remain unchanged, which is tonight, March 1 at 7:00 pm. Winning Works ticket holders will be notified by the Joffrey Ballet box office staff about the change of venue.
