The NYU Tisch School of the Arts annual gala honoring Michael C. Hall, Steven Lutvak and Robert L. Freedman, with a special tribute to Mel Silverman, was held last night, May 4, at the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The evening was hosted by Anna Deavere Smith and featured special presenters Tyne Daly, and Winnie Holzman. The gala performance, directed by Bill Castellino, celebrated the incredible accomplishments of Tisch students, both past and present. Debra Messing & More to be Honored by Trinity Rep

At the 19th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Rep will award Debra Messing with the Pell Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts. John Chan, jazz promoter and owner of Chan's Fine Oriental Dining in Woonsocket will be honored with a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Dancer and choreographer Julie Strandberg will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts and Trinity Rep's former executive director, Michael Gennaro, will be awarded with the Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts. The ceremony will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow at the Providence Public Library.
Craig Zadan Reveals BOMBSHELL Benefit Concert Will Not Be Recorded

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will present a concert presentation of the musical created within the NBC TV series 'Smash,' Bombshell, with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, co-directed by Joshua Bergasse and Scott Wittman with choreography by Joshua Bergasse. The one-night only landmark event benefitting The Actors Fund is set for Monday evening, June 8, 2015 at The Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway).
Now, according to a recent tweet from Zadan, the show officially will get an audio nor video recording. He writes: 'Unfortunately, it's a one night only event. There will be no recording. '
