ABC WORLD NEWS Continues to Cut Viewer Gap with NBC NIGHTLY NEWS

For the week of December 24, 2012, 'ABC World News with Diane Sawyer' averaged 8.27 million Total Viewers and a 1.8 rating/6 share/2.11 million in Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. 'World News' grew both its overall (+4%, 7.94 million on w/o 12/17/12) and demo (+1%, 2.08 million on w/o 12/17/12) audiences compared to the previous week. In addition, the ABC newscast grew its overall audience year to year (+4%, 7.96 million on w/o 12/26/11).

"ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" is once again asking viewers if they are "in" for "The Great Made in America Christmas." The holiday installment of the popular "Made in America" series kicks off on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29, asking families from across the country, "are you in?" for creating more American jobs this holiday season by buying more American-made gifts. The National Retail Federation estimates Americans will spend more than $586 billion this year on holiday gifts and goodies - that's $750 per shopper. Economists tell "World News" that if we all spent just $64 more on gifts with a "Made in America" label, we could create 200,000 new American jobs.
