AMERICAN PSYCHO, which began previews on March 24th, celebrates its Opening Night on Broadway tonight, April 21, 2016, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). The American premiere of a new musical based on the iconic novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its publication, stars Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) as Patrick Bateman. 

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. AMERICAN PSYCHO, Broadway's thrilling new musical, announces the launch of its Digital Lottery.  A limited number of $45 seats will be available daily for that day's performance(s) online viaAmericanPsychoTheMusical.com/lottery. Entries can be submitted the day of the preferred performance, either by 11 AM for matinees or 3 PM for evening performances. The Almeida Theatre announces the cast for the world premiere of Boy, a new play by Leo Butler, directed by Sacha Wares. The cast is Mohammad Amiri, Osmain Baig, Ruby Bridle, Emilio Doorgasingh, Terina Drayton, Aeran Fitzgerald, Frankie Fox, Ellie Mai Gallagher, Bayleigh Gray, Zainab Hasan, Duramaney Kamara, Asiatu Koroma, Wendy Kweh, Lev Litvinov, Georgie Lord, Angel Loren, Teann McDonnell, Eugenie-Alexia Mulumba, Sarah Niles, Demi Papaminas, Imogen Roberts, Abdul Salis, Morgane Tapia,Peter Temple and Matthew Wellard. Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May, with a Press Night on 12 April.

The national tour of THE PRODUCERS, the Mel Brooks musical farce,is a hilarious production.The Tony-award winning musical, which originally starred Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, ran from 2001 to 2007 on Broadway. The touring production is hilariously funny and will play several nearby venues in the next few weeks.

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015.  Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.

Midtown Direct Rep (MDR) continues its 2015-16 Theater in the Loft series at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) with a staged reading of Evanston: A Rare Comedy, written by Michael Yates Crowley. This reading, directed by Michael Rau, will be performed for one night only on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 7pm at SOPAC (One Sopac Way, South Orange, NJ, 07079).
