Casting is announced for Westport Country Playhouse's Script in Hand playreading of "Over the River and Through the Woods" by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro, a comedy about a single, Italian-American guy who visits his beloved, though annoying, grandparents every Sunday for dinner. Scheduled for one-night-only on Monday, November 12, 7 p.m., the cast includes Matthew Amendt, Nicole Lowrance, David Marguiles, Frances Sternhagen, Maria Tucci, and Lenny Wolpe. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor.

The award-winning illusionist, Brad Ross-which ABC television hailed as "Illusionist Extraordinaire"-will perform on the Centenary Stage on Saturday, November 3rd at 2 p.m. in the Sitnik Theatre of the David and Carol Lackland Center in Hackettstown. Ross is an international star illusionist who combines magic, illusion, theatrics, comedy, and fun into a family-friendly experience for kids, parents, and grandparents.

The St. James Theatre, in collaboration with Combat Stress, will mark World Mental Health Day tonight, 10 October with a Q&A session which will take place after the 7.30pm performance of Bully Boy. The panel will comprise Sandi Toksvig, Bully Boy's writer; Anthony Andrews, who plays Major Oscar Hadley in the production and Commodore Andrew Cameron, the Chief Executive of Veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress. Patrick Sandford, Bully Boy's director, will chair the event. The Q&A session is open to all audience members who have attended that evening's performance of Bully Boy.

Westport Country Playhouse will present two Script in Hand play readings this autumn with the family comedy, "Over the River and Through the Woods" by Joe DiPietro, on Monday, November 12, 7 p.m., and the romantic comedy, "The Philadelphia Story" by Philip Barry, on Monday, December 10, 7 p.m. Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor, will direct both readings. Casting will be announced soon.

The West Coast premiere of HOUSE by Daniel MacIvor is extending its run schedule through September 1, 2012, at Rogue Machine. After August 11th, all Friday shows play at 10pm and Saturday shows play at 8pm (August 4th is now at 8pm).
