DOWNTON ABBEY creator and forthcoming ROMEO & JULIET film screenwriter Julian Fellowes has revealed much in a new interview with the New York Times - perhaps most importantly that the many of the events of 'A Journey To Highclere', the Season 3 finale episode that aired stateside last night, were dictated by the neccessities of the departing cast.

The season three finale of Britain's popular historic drama DOWNTON ABBEY ended in tragedy last night, as Matthew Crawley, portrayed by actor Dan Stevens, met his fate in a fatal car accident. Entertainment Weekly spoke to the show's executive producer, Gareth Neame about the decision to write off the popular character in that manner.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season to decide the eligibility of 14 Broadway productions for the 2013 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2012-2013 season to decide the eligibility for the 2013 Tony Awards.

Jessica Chastain - who recently wrapped up a limited run on Broadway in THE HEIRESS, opposite Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens - says that she'd love to continue to perform on stage, this time in the West End.

The publication is reporting that Stevens, who just wrapped THE HEIRESS on Broadway alongside Jessica Chastain, is being considered to star as the next 'Mr. Darcy' on the BBC's impending adaptation of P.D. James's novel DEATH COMES TO PEMBERLEY.

The producers of the new Broadway revival of THE HEIRESS have just announced that the production will recoup its $3 million capitalization during the final week of performances. The final performance is on Saturday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. (note the new early curtain time) at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W. 48th St. NYC). THE HEIRESS will have played 27 previews and 117 regular performances.

The cast of Broadway's THE HEIRESS was increased by one at this past Saturday's matinee performance. Deep into the drama's second act, at perhaps the most climactic point of the show, an adorable three legged dog unexpectedly pranced onto the stage.
