Award winning playwright Kevin O'Morrison's evocative drama for five women is set in the 1919 St. Louis 'ladyhouses,' so-called while men were off fighting, and women almost exclusively occupied these tenements. LADYHOUSE BLUES opens February 16th at NewPlace Studio Theatre.

The first national tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical is coming to Philadelphia at the Academy of Music from February 26 through March 3. Part of the Broadway Season presented by the Kimmel Center and the Shubert Organization, the press opening is scheduled for Tues. Feb. 26 at 7:30 pm.

Strand Theater Company joins forces with StillPointe Theater Initiative to co-produce The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin - an Obie Award-Winning, autobiographical, 'smartly sweet' musical about a woman named Bubbly learning to embrace her color, as she pursues a dream of becoming the greatest dancing star in the world. Directed by Ryan Haase. The production will begin with Previews on February 8-14, will officially open on February 15, and run through February 23.

TheatreSquared will open Tenneessee Williams' only comedy, set on Christmas Eve and rarely seen since its 1961 premiere, this week in a new production directed by Broadway veteran Sean Patrick Reilly. After a disastrous wedding night, George deposits Isabel at the home of his old army buddy, Ralph-whose own wife has just walked out-and promptly disappears. The unexpectedly warmhearted and poignant drama that follows is vintage Williams, with all the hallmarks that have defined him as one of America's greatest playwrights.
