fCelebrated violinist and conductor Pinchas Zukerman opens the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's three-concert 2017 Winter Festival with a program of works by Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn, January 13-15 in Newark, Red Bank and New Brunswick. Zukerman-the festival's Artistic Director-both leads the Orchestra and solos in Tchaikovsky's Serenade Melancolique and "Melodie" from Souvenir d'un Lieu Cher. The program also features Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, "Italian."

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra invites amateur instrumentalists to perform with Orchestra musicians and fellow audience members at #OrchestraYou on Friday, February 24, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The celebratory pro-am orchestra experience, featured on NPR's "All Things Considered," follows Music Director Xian Zhang and the NJSO's 8 pm performance of Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto and Elgar's Enigma Variations. #OrchestraYou is free to February 24 ticketholders; advance registration is required.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents song-and-dance standards from the golden age of Hollywood musicals in a Valentine's-weekend pops program, February 10-12 in Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick. Broadway veterans Joan Hess and Kirby Ward join the Orchestra and guest conductor Gemma New, performing classics inspired by Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Eleanor Powell.

Country and bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs and renowned pianist and songwriter Bruce Hornsby, fellow friends and GRAMMY® winners, will soon hit the road once again to collaborate with Skaggs' razor-sharp band Kentucky Thunder

Love is in the air when award-winning jazz vocalist Alexis Cole appears at the Capitol Center for the Arts' Spotlight Cafe on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 7:30PM. This Valentine's Day show is one of several free William H. Giles Concert Series performances during the CCA's 2016-17 season.

Audiences of all ages will thrill to the adventures of a mischievous boy, hungry wolf, grumpy grandpa and collection of animal characters in Peter and the Wolf at New Jersey Symphony Orchestra family concerts on Saturday, February 11, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. In his famous musical fairytale, Prokofiev cleverly matches each character to an instrument and a musical theme so listeners can imagine the exciting tale as it unfolds.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Raiders of the Lost Ark with live orchestral accompaniment, January 6-8 in Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick. The Orchestra performs John Williams' epic score as the film Roger Ebert called 'a movie of glorious imagination and breakneck speed' screens above the stage. Steven Spielberg's timeless classic sees Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones on a quest to recover the legendary Ark of the Covenant and save the world. Constantine Kitsopoulos conducts.
