The Metropolitan Museum of Art will host an evening of dinner and dancing to honor leaders who have worked on behalf of diverse communities to further the arts and encourage cultural growth. The Multicultural Gala: An Evening of Many Cultures will include a cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party with musical performances throughout the night. The event helps raise funds for the Museum's Multicultural Audience Development Initiative (MADI).

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will be holding their inaugural Global Champions of a Mother's Fight Gala Awards Luncheon at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in NY today, October 29th 2012. The event will honor longtime leaders in the fight to end pediatric AIDS, and will be presented by Arianna Huffington, who will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, leading a thought provoking panel with the event's three honorees, Alex Gorsky, CEO of Johnson & Johnson, Amy Robbins, founder of the Nduna Foundation, and Cookie Johnson, Magic Johnson's wife and board member of the Magic Johnson Foundation.

The BET Honors took place at the Warner Theater in Washington DC on January 17th. The star of the big version of CHICAGO and HAIRSPRAY Queen Latifah was among the many stars that showed up to pay tribute to the lives and accomplishments of 'African American luminaries'. The event hosted by Gabrielle Union honored the likes of Mary J. Blige, Tyler Perry and Magic Johnson. Anita Baker performed thrilling versions of 'One' and 'Caught Up In The Rapture' while Monica sang 'Not Gon Cry' during a tribute to Mary J. Blige.
