Continuing its commitment to nurturing and producing the next generation of musical theatre artists, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has awarded its first annual Donna Perret Rosen Award for excellence in musical theatre to composer/lyricist Adam Gwon. The $10,000 award was established at the off-Broadway company's 2011 gala to honor Second Stage Theatre trustee Donna Perret Rosen in recognition of her long-standing commitment to young artists and new works. The award was chosen by Tony Award winners James Lapine, Susan Stroman, and Jack Viertel.

Tony Award-winner Nina Arianda will play Italian film star Giulietta Masina, wife of visionary filmmaker Federico Fellini, in Fellini Black and White produced by Andrew Lazar (Jonah Hex, I Love You Phillip Morris). The film, written and directed by Henry Bromell (consulting producer and writer of Showtime's Golden Globe Award-winning series Homeland) is set to begin production in early 2013. Arianda joins a cast that includes Oscar-nominees William H. Macy, Terrence Howard, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage, and Brazilian breakout star Wagner Maura who will play the title role of the iconic director.

Artistic Director Robert Falls announced today that he will direct a major revival and new adaptation of Measure for Measure, Shakespeare's darkly comic collision of vice and virtue, in Goodman Theatre's 2012/2013 season, March 9 - April 14, 2013. Showbiz411 reports that Tony Award winner Nina Arianda has joined the cast of THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY, a two-part film that is about to begin production. The actress joins previously announced cast members Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy.

According to Deadline, VENUS IN FUR Tony Award winner Nina Arianda will play Janis Joplin in the upcoming film Joplin, directed by Sean Durkin.
