The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2018, which opens on June 9 and continues for two weeks through June23 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Honorees for the 5th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards (LMGI) were announced today by LMGI President Eric Klosterman. New York based location manager JOSH KARAN (ALSAM founder) will take home the Trailblazer Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award will honor Canadian Location Manager RINO PACE (Inception, Deadpool, Unforgiven).

Nominees for the Location Managers Guild International's (LMGI) 5th Annual Awards were announced today by LMGI president Eric Klosterman. The awards honor productions in feature films, television programs and commercials from around the globe, in which the creative use of filming locations enhances or helps to drive the storyline. The LMGI Awards also recognize outstanding service by Film Commissions for their support “above and beyond” during the production process. Winners will be revealed during a formal ceremony on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

100 Schools Tour Launches with BEETHOVEN LIVES UPSTAIRS

The Grand Theatre, the Thames Valley District School Board, and the London District Catholic School Board are thrilled to announce that the 100 Schools tour launches this week with the Grand's production of BEETHOVEN LIVES UPSTAIRS, directed by Dennis Garnhum.  100 Schools is a new program by the Grand Theatre that tours professional theatre to elementary school gymnasiums and auditoriums across London and the surrounding area at no cost to the schools.  The tour begins in the gym of St. Mary's Choir & Orchestra Catholic School this Friday, January 26 with its finale on April 21 at Ealing Public School.

Modern Warrior Live, a theatrical music experience co-created by United States Army Veteran Jaymes Poling and musician Dominick Farinacci, will make its New York City debut on Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14, 7:30 p.m. in the Loreto Theater at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, 18 Bleecker Street. The show explores the psychological weights of war, the challenges of reintegration as a civilian, and the potential for positive personal and communal growth. Through one combat veteran's unapologetic story, Modern Warrior highlights how post-traumatic stress can be a precursor to growth.

I am thrilled with how the production looks and sounds so far. We have a great team at the helm with Phillip Fazio and Steve Hilderbrand. These two have created some of the biggest hits at Theater Works in past few seasons. I think Phillip is a brilliant director and am always excited to see what he brings to life with a production. Steve Hilderbrand, is a foremost Sondheim enthusiast and I feel blessed to have such a well versed music director for this project. The design team is creating something quite unique and appropriate for our production.

The George Jean Nathan Award Committee has chosen two recipients of the 2014-15 prize for the year's best work in dramatic criticism. Brian Eugenio Herrera is receiving the award for his book Latin Numbers: Playing Latino in Twentieth-Century U.S. Popular Performance (University of Michigan, 2015). Chris Jones has been chosen for his work as theater critic for the Chicago Tribune.

Continuing in a tradition of storytelling and music, Hershey Felder (George Gershwin Alone, Maestro Bernstein and last season's smash hit Mona Golabek in The Pianist of Willesden Lane) will present the World Premiere of Chris Lemmon in Jack Lemmon Returns, a new play with music. The production opens on Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at The Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted Street. The production is written and directed by Hershey Felder and based on the true story of the legendary Jack Lemmon (Mister Roberts, Some Like it Hot, Days of Wine and Roses, The Odd Couple) and his relationship with his son, actor and musician Chris Lemmon (Duet, That's Life, Lena's Holiday, etc.). Kevin James, Chris Rock, George Lopez & More Set for 2013 Taco Bell All-Star Softball Game; to Air on ESPN, 7/15

Comedian Chris Rock, film and TV star Kevin James, singer and actress Ashanti, TV star George Lopez and more will join Mets Legends and Baseball Hall of Famers in the 2013 Taco Bell(R) Legends & Celebrity Softball Game at Citi Field on Sunday, July 14th. Additionally, former Mets catcher Mike Piazza has been added to the roster. Also joining are Hall of Famer and former Mets and Yankees outfielder Rickey Henderson along with former Yankees Bernie Williams, who joins as the American League Captain. Williams will rival former Mets John Franco as the National League Captain. The Softball Game will be televised immediately following the Chevrolet Home Run Derby on ESPN on July 15th.
