You can be certain that during this time of year, I'm making my way to various and sundry theaters to witness the latest Christmaslike offerings from companies large and small, but after last season's A Country Christmas, Carol - playwright/actress Lydia Bushfield's uniquely fun take on the Charles Dickens classic about the coldly restrained Ebenezer Scrooge and that whiny little cuss Tiny Tim - her newest show, now onstage at Nashville's Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, seemed mighty promising to kick off my season with raucous laughter and bemused sentiment.

Quest Theatre Ensemble will bring its visual artistry and immersive theatricality to the Alan Menken-Lynn Ahrens musical version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. This version with music by Menken, the multiple Oscar winning composer of Disney musicals Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Newsies; and lyrics by the Tony award-winning lyricist of Ragtime, Seussical and Once on this Island, was a hit for ten consecutive seasons at New York's Madison Square Garden and was later filmed by television in a production starring Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge. Quest's production will be directed by Quest Ensemble Director Andrew Park. A Christmas Carol will run from November 20 - December 20, 2015.

The Alley Theatre's A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas features a cast of 22 talented young actors from the Houston area who will perform the show in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre. Many of the young cast members are continuing a family tradition of appearing in the production, and other young cast members are joining the show for the first time.

Southern Winds Theatre is celebrating the 18th season of our One Man A CHRISTMAS CAROL written and performed by David McElroy. Mr. McElroy adapted for the stage and performs all 37 different characters, in this Charles Dickens masterpiece. Directed by Marylin McGinnis and Stage Managed by Bonnie Sprung.

The family Christmas classic, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, runs November 20-December 13, 2015 in the Young Theatre on Cal State Fullerton's campus. The adaptation is inspired by the 1951 film version, adapted by Department of Theatre and Dance Chair Bruce Goodrich and directed by Jeremy Lewis.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL will run at the Omaha Community Playhouse, Nov. 20-Dec. 23, 2015. This year marks the 40th year for the production on the mainstage of OCP. In celebration of 40 years, the Omaha Community Playhouse will hold a special 'alumni reunion' party for all former and current cast and crew members on Thursday, December 17. Berkshire Theatre Group is pleased to announce the 10th annual community production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Eric Hill and co-directed by Eric Hill and Travis G. Daly, and presented for the fifth time at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. This year's production includes 30 talented young Berkshire county actors, many of whom are returning to the Colonial Theatre, and some who are performing for the first time. A Christmas Carol runs Saturday, December 12 through Tuesday, December 22.

Centenary Stage Company's family favorite Holiday Spectacular, A Christmas Carol:  The Musical, returns to the Sitnik Theater on November 27 until December 13 in the Lackland Center.

Trinity Repertory Company presents its annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Curt Columbus, and featuring resident acting company member Stephen Berenson as Ebenezer Scrooge. Performances run through December 31.
