Project Shaw has announced that their Sept. 27th production of CANDIDA has sold out. Those wanting to see the show can put their name on a waiting list at the theatre at 5:30 on the day of the performance. Tickets, which are $25, always on sale the first of every month. Gingold Theatrical Group -- which made history last December as the first company ever to present every play (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches) written by George Bernard Shaw -- continues its fifth year of PROJECT SHAW with CANDIDA, Shaw's provocative romantic comedy about a minister and his wife whose marriage is threatened by a young poet, on Monday, September 27 at 7pm at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. David Staller produces and directs.

The New York Times has announced that The Public Theater is actively working on a Broadway transfer of it's production of Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino, now playing at the Delacorte Theater. That production is scheduled to close August 1. The Public's Executive Director Andrew Hamingston tells the Times that a transfer is dependant upon the film and television filming conflicts amongst several of the cast members, including Lily Rabe, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Hamish Linklater.
