Celebrating its 35th anniversary season, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, invites audiences to be part of the movement as the company returns to the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum for an exciting evening of repertory on November 16. The bold and dramatic company will perform Dorfman's charming Dance/Stories, lively Sextet and lead dancer Ae-Soon Kim's sinuous Unfolding.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance, whose bold and dramatic works connect life and movement, invites audiences to be part of the movement during its 35th Anniversary 2017 2018 Season. Fall highlights include being presented by Jersey City Theater Company in excerpts of KEYSTONE, WAVES and The Klezmer Sketch with special guest artist Grigory Gurevich, along with performances of Dance/Stories, Sextet and Unfolding at the Bickford Theatre in the Morris Museum.

Bickford Theatre Announces 2017-2018 Season

The Bickford Theatre has announced their 2017-18 season which includes a blend of jazz, bluegrass, classical, pop and a trio of live theater offerings. Subscription packages for the Main Stage productions are available and seats for most of this season's shows are reserved. Tickets are available online at www.morrismuseum.org or by phone at 973-971-3706. Food trucks which proved extremely popular over the summer will be offered for the concerts in September and October so make plans to tailgate while the weather is still nice.

Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University has joined forces with Buggé Ballet for a one-of-a-kind event – the Liberty Hall Dance Festival. For the first time ever, guests will spend an afternoon walking through the scenic museum grounds, enjoying site-specific professional dance performances inspired by moments in history. Liberty Hall Dance Festival will be held on Saturday, September 16 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Carolyn Dorfman Dance, whose bold and dramatic works connect life and movement, are broadening student's dance knowledge and appreciation through classroom, after school programing, and curriculum building throughout communities across the nation. In 2016, the organization launched the D.E.P.T.H. Initiative, Dance (that) Empowers People to (be more) Human, with a 36-month fundraising goal of $100,000 for dance education expansion. To date, the initiative has raised over $23,000 in private funding, earmarked for five new dance programs—McKinley School in New Brunswick, PS 27 Elementary and Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) in Paterson, New Jersey High School Dance Festival in Union City, and a special student assembly sponsored by LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, Long Island City, New York.

SOULSKIN Dance is proud to present a brand new work SATIN & SWING as part of their 4th Season in San Francisco. Artistic Director and Choreographer Adrianna Thompson seeks to engage audiences in a study of two eras, the 1920s and the present. Dance Mission Theatre transforms into a time machine, transporting us back to the 1920s. Glitz and glam sparkle from the dingy corners of a speakeasy. Raucous jazz blares, bringing bejeweled and sequined dancing flapper girls to life. An evening of indulgence has begun. The entry notes of Prince's 'Erotic City' ring in your ears, an echo from another time. Suddenly you notice the writing on the wall. The crash of overindulgence is imminent.
