Singer KEVIN DOZIER will bring his acclaimed cabaret show "TAKE ME TO THE WORLD" to The Laurie Beechman Theatre at West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street, on Tuesday, October 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 7 PM.

Combining complex rhythms, tones and key signatures with a West Coast Cool sound, Dave Brubeck has long been proof that creative and popular jazz can be synonymous. A favorite with critics and fans alike, Brubeck has been redefining jazz music for over 50 years, since his days with General Patton's Army Band during WWII. He is credited as a force in rebirth of jazz in the 1950s and '60s, taking the popular Dave Brubeck Quartet on tour with greats such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz, and composing standards such as 'Take Five,' now featured in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and 'Blue Rondo A La Turk.'

The evening, directed by Lennie Watts, includes songs by Maltby and Shire, Jones and Schmidt, Irving Berlin, Jerry Herman, Lerner and Loewe, Stephen Sondheim, Noel Coward, Ervin Drake, Rusty Magee, Alex Rybeck and others. Kevin debuted 'Take Me to the World' at Feinstein's earlier this year to universal raves. He returns in this extended engagement at the popular theatre-district restaurant and cabaret theatre named for Broadway's Laurie Beechman. Kevin will be joined by Musical Director Alex Rybeck at the piano with Jered Egan on Bass and John Redsecker on drums. Local musician Bob Acri is celebrating the addition of his song "Sleep Away" to Windows 7 by donating the proceeds of his CD "The Cavalcade of Music Foundation Presents Bob Acri" to the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation.
