Glenn Casale's history with "Peter Pan" has been one awfully big adventure that's unlikely to end any time soon. The California Musical Theatre Artistic Director headed the Tony-nominated 1999 Broadway revival, which subsequently saw an A&E television broadcast and multiple tours. The show visited Sacramento as recent as 2012, and fans of that version will appreciate pieces of costumes and dance, and even a few cast members, pulled from Casale's Cathy Rigby version for the Music Circus production, now playing at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF is pleased to present Monty Python's Spamalot from September 9 - October 11, 2015 in the Margeson Theater. The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, begins tonight, July 1, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

The next show in the 65th Music Circus season is the hit musical comedy Bye Bye Birdie. Performances are Tuesday, July 7 through Sunday, July 12. The spirited cast includes Broadway performers, Music Circus audience favorites and some fresh faces making their Music Circus debuts.

'Big River' at Sacramento Music Circus is the show to see this summer. Director Michael Heitzman makes optimal use of the company's round stage, working with choreographer AC Ciulla to balance an amusing first act with a heavier second half.

Music Circus opened its 2015 season Tuesday evening with Glenn Casale's enchanting production of the Lerner and Loewe classic "My Fair Lady." Casale's direction and Bob Richard's choreography scatter gems of endearing humor throughout. After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre has confirmed casting for all six shows in the 65th Music Circus season. EVITA opens May 16, 2015 at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont, blending a fine dining and musical theatre experience during their 30th season. With more than 20 major awards to it's credit, and the Oscar winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, Evita has become iconic.

The Broadway Gala, California Musical Theatre's annual fund raising dinner, takes place tonight, May 2, starting at 6:00 p.m., at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, 1515 J St. in Sacramento.

Lanford Wilson's 'Talley Trilogy' continues on the Aurora Theatre Company main stage with FIFTH OF JULY. Aurora Artistic Director Tom Ross (A Bright New Boise, This Is How It Goes, Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, The Shape of Things) helms FIFTH OF JULY, featuring Craig Marker (The Shape of Things, The Persians), Elizabeth Benedict, John Girot, Jennifer Le Blanc, Oceana Ortiz, Harold Pierce, Josh Schell, and Nanci Zoppi. FIFTH OF JULY plays tonight, April 17 through May 17 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley.

Lincoln Center Theater presents Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I, led by Kelli O'Hara (as Anna Leonowens) and Ken Watanabe (as the King of Siam), directed by Bartlett Sher. California Musical Theatre announced the 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento season at the Community Center Theater, featuring six shows not previously presented on the series, two of which were produced in the round at Music Circus but never before part of Broadway Sacramento.
