Earlier this week, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (running July 7 - 27) presented a special preview of the 2014 featuring musical selections from: Mr. Confidential, The Gig, Valueville, Somewhere With You, Clinton, WikiMusical, Bayonets of Angst, Academia Nuts, Mother Jones and the Children's Crusade. The foothills will come alive with The Sound of Music when the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical returns July 11 through August 31 at Sierra Repertory Theatre's historic Fallon House Theatre in Columbia.

WikiMusical with a Book and Lyrics by Frank Ceruzzi & Blake J. Harris; Music by Trent Jeffords is being presented at the New York Musical Theatre Festival with performances at PTC Performance Space (Pearl Theatre Company), 555 West 42nd Street, NYC. Performances will be: Friday, July 18 at 8pm; Saturday, July 19 at 5pm; Sunday, July 20 at 8pm; Tuesday, July 22 at 5:00 pm; and Saturday, July 26 at 9pm. The multi-talented cast of 12 will perform a dozen musical numbers. They are: Brenda Braxton (Spam King), Jason C. The music of the late composer Dory Previn was celebrated at a gala for the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre last night. Best-known as the writer of such hit songs as 'Theme from Valley of the Dolls,' 'Mary C. Brown and the Hollywood Sign,' 'With My Daddy in the Attic,' 'You're Gonna Hear from Me,' DORY PREVIN was a legendary figure as a pop-folk singer-song-writer in the 60's-70's and 80's. The Gala performance was directed by Rachel Chavkin (NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812), with musical direction by Jon Spurney. In December 2013, Miracle Theatre Group aka Milagro, the Northwest's premier Latino arts and culture organization, was awarded 4 grants totaling $47,200 in support of arts & health education programming, capacity building, and arts residencies.

The Vineyard Theatre will celebrate the songs of Dory Previn - the late pop/folk singer-songwriter whose numerous hits include "Come SaturdayMorning" and the theme from "Valley of the Dolls" - at its annual Gala Fundraiser on Monday, February 24th beginning at 6:30pm at the Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47 St in Manhattan), it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Vineyard Theatre's Artistic Director and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director. The Vineyard Gala will not only celebrate Ms. Previn's witty, heartbreaking and provocative songs, but will feature selections from her poems, plays and memoirs, as well.

After years of working together, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of MythBusters are finally squaring off against each other as they fabricate the necessary components to play an elaborate child's game of war. They will utilize ingenuity and innovation as they try to take each other down. DANGEROUS TOYS, an all-new one-hour special executive produced by Savage and Hyneman, will premiere Saturday, Jan. 11 at 9PM ET/PT.
