The Flea Theater presents the New York premiere of Ellen McLaughlin's adaptation of THE TROJAN WOMEN. It will be directed by Resident Director Anne Cecelia Haney, featuring members of The Bats, The Flea's resident acting company. Previews begin Wednesday, August 24th with opening night slated for Thursday, September 1st.
Stage Left Theatre Sets 35th Season

Stage Left Theatre is pleased to announce the programming for its 35th season. The season begins with the world premiere of The Bottle Tree by Beth Kander directed by ensemble member Amy Szerlong. The Bottle Tree was developed through Stage Left's Downstage Left program, at the Ashland New Plays Festival and and has received an Honorable Mention on The Kilroys List for the past two years. Next, in the winter, Stage Left and Cor Theatre present a co-production of What of the Night? by Maria Irene Fornes, directed by Carlos Murillo. This epic meditation on poverty in America was a Pultizer finalist in 1990. Cor Theatre Artistic Director Tosha Fowler says of the partnership, 'With admiration for Stage Left's longevity and the exciting opportunities they provide to artists through their strong commitment to mission, we at Cor are thrilled to announce a collaboration of theatre that is bound to leave you breathless. Combining Stage Left's strength with our fearless aesthetic, Fornes' poetically primal voice, and Carlos Murillo's passionate vision, What of the Night is going to be our biggest leap yet.' Finally, the company will present LeapFest, its annual developmental festival featuring workshop productions of new plays, at a time to be announced later.
Sundance Institute Sets Projects for Screenwriters Lab, Documentary Edit and Story Labs & New Theatre-Makers Residency

Sundance Institute has selected 25 projects to participate in its Screenwriters Lab, Documentary Edit and Story Labs and new Theatre-Makers Residency, which will take place concurrently this summer in the mountains of the Sundance Resort in Utah. The confluence of these three artist development programs will provide Fellows the unprecedented opportunity to experience portions of the other Labs and will support a cross-pollination of creativity and personal expression across different storytelling forms.

Seaglass Theatrical will stage an invite only industry presentation of the new musical A Dog Story directed by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell). The musical written by Eric H. ?Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will present its final production of the 2015-2016 season with the WNY premiere of Farragut North by Beau Willimon, opening Friday April 29th. The political drama will star Pete Johnson, Richard Satterwhite, Victoria Perez, David Hayes, Steve Brachmann, and Danica Riddick under the direction of Scott Behrend. Production team includes Katelyn Wickham (stage management), Lucas Lloyd (Assistant Director), Dyan Burlingame (set), Katie Ludwig (light), Chris Ballard (sound), Eileen Behan Hargrave (props), and Maura Simmonds-Price (costume).
