Williamstown Theatre Festival Announces Complete 2010 Summer Season

Nicholas Martin announced today the remainder of the 2010 Season for Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the 56th season, and final one under Martin's tenure as WTF Artistic Director.

Bay Street @ The Parrish is back with two hilarious shows coming to the intimate space at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. This year Bay Street @ The Parrish opens its summer season with MY SON THE WAITER, A JEWISH TRAGEDY, running for 2 weekends only-Fridays and Saturdays July 23- 24 and July 30-31. In MY SON THE WAITER, A JEWISH TRAGEDY, Brad Zimmerman weaves an intricate and bittersweet tale of one man's lengthy struggle to make it as an actor in New York. Part theatre, part stand-up, his homey send-ups on his childhood, family, career and misbegotten love life are as warm and poignant as they are hilarious.

Bay Street's FIFTH OF JULY begins previews Tuesday, July 6th through Friday, July 9th, with opening night Saturday, July 10th. The show runs Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm, with matinees on Wednesdays at 2pm and Saturdays at 4pm except during preview week. On Tuesday, July 13th following the performance there will be a talkback with the actors. The show will close on Sunday, August 1st. Please note that this performance will contain partial nudity. Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy. Directed by David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?), Driving Miss Daisy will begin performances on October 7, 2010, at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), with an official opening on Monday, October 25, 2010.
