The Cabaret Showdown celebrates its four year Anniversary on November 8th and will permanently relocate to the Kraine Theatre on 85 East 4th  Street, NYC.

Sound Street Productions presents the first full-length recording of Show Choir! - The Musical with new orchestrations by Assaf Gleizner, and under the musical direction of Kenneth Gartman. Leading the studio cast is Kevin Duda (Beautiful, Book of Mormon /Broadway) and Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde /Broadway) They are joined by additional cast members Bay Bryan (Growing Into My Beard,) John Raymond Barker (Vampire Drag Queen,) Taylor Coriell (Titanic National Tour,) Joshua Lance Dixon (2015 BISTRO Award,) Shira Elias (Turkuaz,) Julie Galorenzo (Show Choir! Rounding out the Summer Cabaret Season, FST presents The Swingaroos by Kimberly Hawkey and Assaf Gleizner, beginning in the Court Cabaret on August 18. Inspired by the sounds and imagery of vintage Soundies and Golden-Age films, The Swingaroos blend past and present through the sweet sound of the swing era. This energetic, six-piece group combines New Orleans hot jazz with comedic storytelling and down-home influences. Show Choir! - The Musical is a melodious mockumentary about America's favorite teen pastime...with jazz hands. This original musical comedy by Mark McDaniels and Donald Garverick has been developing in New York City since 2006, including an award winning production at the 2007 New York International Fringe Festival and a sold out run at the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Show Choir! also received acclaimed productions at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and The American Conservatory Theatre - San Francisco in 2012.

The Cabaret Showdown is a unique mixture of live karaoke and musical jeopardy where contestants are asked to sing selections from various musical categories listed on the game board with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. The Musical Theatre Factory (MTF), under the leadership of founding Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack and Managing Director Danny Abosch, announces the opening of a new midtown black box rehearsal and performance space with a full summer season dedicated to the development of new musical theatre. Musical Theatre Factory operates as a volunteer-based cooperative of artists and arts administrators committed to a process of peer evaluation and the cultivation of new work, free from the pressures of critical or commercial success.

The Cabaret Showdown is a monthly game show that offers a unique mixture of live karaoke and Jeopardy. Contestants are asked to sing selections from various musical categories listed on the Official Game Board with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. To level the playing field all songs are popular standards, each contestant is given a copy of the sheet music and accompanied by a live pianist. The winner receives a free booking at UNDER St. Marks for their very own showcase. Whether you are a contestant or in the audience you are guaranteed to have a blast!
