The first and second day of the third-annual ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival at Boulder at the Main Boulder Public Library, September 15 and 16, featured 29 sessions that covered topics ranging from Slumdog Millionaire and Spotlight to climate change, sexuality, Russia and North Korea.

The Brown Arts Initiative (BAI) at Brown University today announced highlights of its much-anticipated 2017-18 season of programming, featuring influential musicians, poets, artists, and filmmakers.

The Poetry Project will host its first-ever gala in celebration of its 50th anniversary on Thursday, April 27, 2017. The gala will honor Anne Waldman for her radical and inspiring contributions to international contemporary poetry and activism, and for her past leadership of The Poetry Project. The evening will include performances by composer and performance artist Laurie Anderson, writer and vocalist LaTasha Diggs, and choreographer Yoshiko Chuma.

The Poetry Project announces the lineup for the 43rd Annual New Year's Day Marathon Benefit Reading, on Sunday, January 1, 2017, from 3pm to 2am, at St. Mark's Church. In celebration of the Poetry Project's 50th anniversary, the 2017 marathon will ring in the New Year with a stellar roster of 150 poets, musicians, dancers, and other artists from throughout the Project's storied history, as well as many first-timers. The marathon is the Poetry Project's largest fund-raiser and community-building (and sustaining) event of the year. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door ($20 students/seniors).

The Poetry Project, the legendary downtown mecca for working poets and experimental artists since the days of Ginsberg and Ferlinghetti, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with two landmark events.

John Wieners was on the periphery of many of the twentieth century's most important avant-garde poetry scenes, from Black Mountain and the Boston Renaissance to the New York School and the SF Renaissance. Having achieved cult status among poets, Wieners has also become known for the compelling nature of his journals, a mixture of early drafts of poems, prose fragments, lists, and other fascinating minutiae of the poet's imagination.

As announced last week, Incubator Arts Project is closing its doors. Before the organization leaves St. Mark's, the group is presenting WSB 100 by William S Burroughs as part of its final lineup of artists.

WSB100 is a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of America's preeminent avant garde literary iconoclast: William S. Burroughs, writer of Naked Lunch, Queer, Junky, and many other experimental works of great American literature. Provocative, disturbing, and exciting as the artist himself, WSB100 and Incubator Arts hosts a series of original world premiere performances in honor of the legendary mindbending troublemaker himself.

Over 100 artists and arts organizations are expected to participate in the first ever Boulder Arts Week, taking place today, March 28 through April 6.
