The first and second day of the third-annual ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival at Boulder at the Main Boulder Public Library, September 15 and 16, featured 29 sessions that covered topics ranging from Slumdog Millionaire and Spotlight to climate change, sexuality, Russia and North Korea.

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, 14th annual New Original Works (NOW) Festival, a three-week celebration of Los Angeles' vibrant community of artists creating new contemporary performance works continues August 3-5 and August 10-12 at 8:30 pm. REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, announces the 14th annual New Original Works (NOW) Festival, a three-week celebration of Los Angeles' vibrant community of artists creating new contemporary performance works. The gala will honor Anne Waldman for her radical and inspiring contributions to international contemporary poetry and activism, and for her past leadership of The Poetry Project. The evening will include performances by composer and performance artist Laurie Anderson, writer and vocalist LaTasha Diggs, and choreographer Yoshiko Chuma.

The Poetry Project announces the lineup for the 43rd Annual New Year's Day Marathon Benefit Reading, on Sunday, January 1, 2017, from 3pm to 2am, at St. Mark's Church. In celebration of the Poetry Project's 50th anniversary, the 2017 marathon will ring in the New Year with a stellar roster of 150 poets, musicians, dancers, and other artists from throughout the Project's storied history, as well as many first-timers. The marathon is the Poetry Project's largest fund-raiser and community-building (and sustaining) event of the year. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door ($20 students/seniors).
