The new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN will be recorded today, November 3, for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. ON THE TOWN, which features a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Leonard Bernstein, and is based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, is currently running at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).

The new Broadway revival of On The Town, directed by John Rando and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse opened last night on Broadway to rave reviews at the Lyric (formerly Foxwoods) theatre on Broadway. One of the wonderful things about live theater is that each audience member's experience is different. For me, a favorite aspect of live theater is its ability to suspend disbelief and to transport the audience to the world being presented onstage. When it's done well, immersion into the story-telling and production can make the audience forget, at least for a moment, that they are watching a bunch of actors in a play. The experience envelopes them, and before long the audience is crying and laughing along with the characters on the stage.

Producers announced today that P.J. Griffith (Giant, American Idiot) and Christina Sajous (Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, American Idiot) will star in the industry lab presentation of the new musical, BEYOND THE MUSIC, on January 28th and 29th. They join previously announced cast members Rob Bartlett (How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying), Katie Rose Clarke (Wicked), Claybourne Elder (Bonnie and Clyde) and Tony Award-winner Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains). BEYOND THE MUSIC features a book by Andy Sandberg, music and lyrics by Cliff Downs and Katie Kahanovitz, and direction by Sandberg, with choreography by AC Ciulla and music supervision and arrangements by Fred Lassen.

'American Idol' alum and Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis will soon say goodbye to the national tour of Rock of ages, according to a recent interview with JSOnline. Maraoulis, who originated leading man 'Drew' on Broadway, commented: 'I've set out and accomplished everything I've wanted to do.' Maroulis departs from the show in July after being involved with the show for three years.

Constantine Maroulis, who originated the role of Drew in ROCK OF AGES on Broadway, recently introduced his first child, Malena James to the world via People Magazine. On how he and mom ANgel Reed chose the now three month old's name, he commented: '. 'I always loved the name. I'm not fond of a lot of Greek female names. James is my middle name and my father's name. It just fit.'
