Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Managing Director Beth Brown have announced Nightwood Theatre's 2015/2016 Season. In our 36th season we continue to produce work that confronts some of the most relevant issues of our times. From shattering the culture of shame in gender-based violence (Nirbhaya), to exposing the pitfalls of Canada's refugee system (Refuge), from unearthing the buried history of slaves in Salem (Obeah Opera), to the clash of idealism and bureaucracy (The Public Servant), the issues raised in these plays will ignite a compelling dialogue with our audience.

Tarragon Theatre and Volcano Theatre present their co-production of the world premiere of Infinity, written by one of Canada's most prolific and acclaimed writers, 2014 Trillium Award winner and a Tarragon playwright-in-residence, Hannah Moscovitch. A shocking, funny and revelatory elegy to time and love, Infinity opens tonight, April 1 and runs to Sunday May 3 (previewing from March 25) in Tarragon's Extraspace, directed by Volcano's Artistic Director Ross Manson. Canadian Stage's Shakespeare in High Park returns this summer with a Shakespearean double bill at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.), pairing the pastoral comedy, As You Like It, with the bard's first tragedy, Titus Andronicus. Outdoors and under the stars, the plays run on alternate nights from June 26 to Aug. 31, Tuesday to Sunday at 8 p.m. Each performance is pay-what-you can, with a suggested contribution of $20. The productions are presented by Canadian Stage in collaboration with the Department of Theatre, York University.

Under Volcano Artistic Director Ross Manson's direction, this modern Canadian classic is radically reimagined and brought forward for a new generation to savour starring Canadian actors Becky Johnson (of improv duos IRON COBRA and The Sufferettes) andAmy Rutherford (Volcano's Goodness, Necessary Angel's Divisadero).
