Shakespeare's Globe 2013 Season to Open Public Booking, Feb 11

Building on the achievements of 2012, Shakespeare's Globe opens public booking for the 2013 theatre season on Monday 11 February. 'Season of Plenty' follows a watershed year at the Globe and offers theatre's brightest talents in a rich season of fifteen plays, including three world premieres, an expansion of the Globe's award-winning touring, and the return of three Globe to Globe productions from last year's once-in-a-lifetime festival.

New York City's five borough Chambers of Commerce and TD announced the specific neighborhoods and commercial corridors across the city in most need of revitalization -- including areas affected by Hurricane Sandy -- and how TD's $200,000 grant to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce will assist businesses with strategies to recover and rebuild.

Drury Lane Announces Extensive Renovation

Kyle DeSantis, President of Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane, announced today that the facility is undergoing an extensive renovation, with Phase 1 to be completed by March, 2013 and Phase 2 to be completed by mid-2014. Phase 1 includes the renovation of the 27,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, the Main Lobby and Cocktail Lounge. The inviting new spaces feature a sophisticated European design aesthetic with top-of-the-line furnishings, original artwork and elegant décor. Phase 2 will include the renovation of the Courtyard Restaurant, French Room, English Room, and the Theatre Bar.

But the 32nd annual Inge Festival in 2013 changes pace: honoring its namesake American icon William Inge, to celebrate the centennial of his birth. The William Inge Theatre Festival at Independence Community College takes place May 1-4 of 2013, in Inge's rural hometown of Independence, Kansas, where, annually, Broadway and Hollywood artists meet on the prairie to mingle with visitors from more than 24 states.
