Indie Street Announces 2020 Online Festival and Drive-In


The Indie Street Film Festival (ISFF) announced its 2020 film lineup today, featuring one in-person screening and a fully online program to follow.

Quinn Armstrong's SURVIVAL SKILLS To Premiere At Cinequest


Writer/director Quinn Armstrong's Survival Skills tells the story of Jim, a rookie policeman who gets in over his head when he tries to resolve a domestic violence case outside the law. Presented entirely as a mid 80s police training video, complete with a Narrator, played by Golden-Globe winner Stacy Keach, it will screen in the New Visions Competition at Cinequest Film Festival in March. In addition to Keach, the film stars Vayu O'Donnell (80/20), Ericka Kreutz (This Is Us, The Handmaid's Tale), and Spencer Garrett (Once Upon A Time... in Hollywood).

Working Theater, in its 29th season off-Broadway, will continue its current exploration of the face of poverty in America, with James McManus' Princess Grace Award-winning play, CHERRY SMOKE. The play is a brutal love story that details the irrational hope of four destitute young people, all stretching to grasp the American dream. Directed by Tamilla Woodard, the production will run tonight, April 22nd through May 18th at Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street in Manhattan. The official opening is on Thursday, May 1st.

The Old Globe Extends DOUBLE INDEMNITY Through 9/1


The Old Globe today announced that the San Diego Premiere of the crime classic Double Indemnity will receive an additional week of performances and will now run through Sept. 1. The production begins previews on July 27 and was originally set to close on Aug. 25. Opening night is Aug. 1. Double Indemnity is adapted by David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright from the book by James M. Cain and is directed by John Gould Rubin. Tickets for the extension week are currently available to subscribers only and will go on sale to the public on Friday, July 26 at 12 noon. The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego Premiere of the crime classic Double Indemnity, adapted by David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright from the novel by James M. Cain. Directed by John Gould Rubin, Double Indemnity will run July 27 - August 25, 2013 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
