As the tension mounts to its bloody end, audience members, especially the few who get invited into the scene within Macbeth's castle, are drawn into the characters' lives and motives, all the while experiencing the evocative moody atmosphere of haunted, stone-walled castles. Kudos go out to the entire design team from Runco's sets, Avery Reagan and Wesley Chew's lighting design, Joseph a?oeSloea?? Slawinski's sound design, to A. Jeffrey Schoenberg's costume design which work brilliantly together with the talented acting ensemble to transport audiences into a sensory experience none will ever forget.

The Music Center named 14 outstanding Southern California high school students as Grand Prize Finalists in the 29th annual The Music Center's Spotlight program (Spotlight), a free nationally recognized scholarship and arts training program for teens.  Two Grand Prize Finalists were named in each of seven categories, including acting, ballet, non-classical dance, classical voice, non-classical voice, classical instrumental and jazz instrumental.  All finalists will receive $5,000 scholarships and appear in a ticketed Grand Finale Performance at The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall on May 23, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.  Spotlight Grand Prize Finalists were chosen from more than 1,300 Southern California students who auditioned for panels of expert judges.  

Local high school student and CTG regional finalist Damaris Vizvett took second place in the national finals for the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) on Monday, May 2, 2016, at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway.

From a field of 12 local high school students, Damaris Vizvett, Samuel Christian and Aryana Williams have been selected as the top three performers in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) regional finals hosted at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum on Monday night, February 29, 2016. Vizvett and Christian will go on to represent Los Angeles in the national finals on May 2. This year's competition featured high school students from three Southern California counties. Center Theatre Group has selected 12 local students to participate in the regional finals for the 2016 August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) to be held at the CTG/Mark Taper Forum on Monday, February 29, 2016.
