Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today unveiled the 2020/21 season which builds on the company's commitment to create new works, attract the best artists in the world and showcase the company on the international stage. The season features the world premiere of MADDADDAM, a new full-length ballet by the multi-award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor in collaboration with internationally renowned writer Margaret Atwood. Additional highlights include the North American premiere of Victoria, created by acclaimed choreographer Cathy Marston, and a guest appearance by San Francisco Ballet in its Toronto debut. On Wednesday, September 26 thousands of local students and educators descended on Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the second annual WE Day UN.  The youth empowerment event returned to New York to celebrate youth and educators from across the Tri-State area. Taking place during the conclusion of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), WE Day UN is held in partnership with UN Women, UNAIDS and UN Global Compact. WE Day UN celebrates the year-round local and global acts of service taken by thousands of students from across the region.       

QUEEN OF THE WORLD, a landmark documentary on Her Majesty The Queen, will debut MONDAY, OCT. 1 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO, which has U.S. rights to the film.

Yesterday marked the the inaugural WE Day UN event that took place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Tuesday July 1st saw the art world's most prestigious party, the Serpentine Summer Party, take place by the Serpentine Galleries amid the oxygenated greenery of Hyde Park, ”the lungs of London”.

I am very pleased to say that Texas State University - San Marcos's current production of Into the Woods is easily the best live production of the show that I have yet to see. This winning cast, smart director, and wonderful creative team have created an Into the Woods that is charming, funny, heartfelt, and entertaining above all else.

Princess Beatrice, whose father the Duke of York is one of the Patrons of The York Mystery Plays, visited the plays costume workshop to see some of the 3,000 individual items being made and talk to some of the 60 volunteers who are helping to create the costumes, all inspired by the fashions of the 1940s and 1950s.
