Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has revealed that Melia Bensussen will be taking the reins of its flagship program, the National Playwrights Conference.

Over its nearly sixty-year history, Hartford Stage has become synonymous with breathtaking productions of Shakespeare. Black Theatre Troupe opens its 2019-20 season with Sheldon Epps' Broadway blockbuster, BLUES IN THE NIGHT. Tracing the American musical art form of the blues, BLUES IN THE NIGHT features 26 blockbuster songs including Duke Ellington's I'm Just a Lucky So-And-So, Jimmy Davis' Lover Man, Bessie Smith's Reckless Blues and Baby Doll,Billy Strayhorn's Lush Life and Blues in the Night by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) held its annual Accessories for Success Scholarship Luncheon, on Sunday, April 22nd at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills and presented by City National Bank.  The event honored three exemplary women, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and support for children facing adversity in Los Angeles. The event also presented a record 108 scholarships to college bound youth from the BBBSLA program.

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the iconic classic drama A Doll's House, by Henrik Ibsen, adapted by Bryony Lavery, and directed by Boston favorite Melia Bensussen (Awake and Sing!, Luck of the Irish, and Circle Mirror Transformation at the Huntington). Performances run January 6 - February 5, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

In conjunction with its upcoming production of A Doll's House the Huntington Theatre Company will host a number of special events and post-show conversations. Obie Award winner Melia Bensussen Circle Mirror Transformation directs. The reading, located at the Huntington Rehearsal Hall, is free and open to the public, though reservations are required as seating is limited.

Theater Works will host the ARIZONA SENIOR FOLLIES as they perform the concert 'Music, Music, Music' to benefit Eve's Place - a local center for victims of domestic violence. Danny Davis of KOY-AM radio will be the master of ceremonies for the two hour performance. 'Music, Music, Music' also has many local performers including Anna Engstrom, winner of the 'Idol In The Skye' competition held at the Skye Restaurant this past summer. Join Theater Works on November 19th at 7 p.m. for a spectacular evening with the ARIZONA SENIOR FOLLIES. Tickets are only $29 and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Eve's Place to help the men, women and children in their shelters.
