The Media Theatre celebrated with Broadway stars, regional VIP's, politicians, and dignitaries on Saturday February 25 for its most successful fundraising Gala ever. The 23rd annual Gala, 'Star Struck', featured a headlining performance by Tony winning actress Alice Ripley.

It capped a winning five-week stage adventure for West Chester's 13 year old JD Triolo who won The Media Theatre's 2015 'Vocalist Junior' contest. Walking away with a $500 cash prize and a gift certificate for the theatre, JD beamed as he hugged the runner-up (Cassidy Else, 10, of Drexel Hill).

The Smith household has something to be proud of. David and Inge's daughter, 11 year old Emily Smith, won the 2013 'Vocalist Junior' contest at The Media Theatre. She zoomed ahead of the competition with smart song choices and an intriguing-sometimes humorous-stage presence with songs such as 'Diva's Lament' from Broadway's Spamalot and 'Four Chord Song' which is a hilarious ditty about the fact that all popular pop tunes share the same basic structure and composition.

Archbishop Carroll High School has something to be very proud of when students return this fall. Austy Hicks, 16, who attends the school in Radnor is the 'Vocalist' champion. In the contest held for fiveWednesday nights this summer at The Media Theatre, Hicks leapt to the front of the line with his wise choices and mature vocals.
