ELEVATE will celebrate community impact and artistic success with its line-up of vanguard and live cabaret performances and awards program, all to benefit Dancing Classroom's innovative approach to social and emotional learning, (SEL) with all the benefits of physical wellness,turning 4th and 5th graders into respectful 'young ladies and gentlemen' with self-discipline, self-respect and increased self-esteem. 

Margulies Honored at 8th Annual Children's Arts Award Benefit


Young Audiences New York (YANY) will recognize four preeminent honorees for their contributions to the arts and advocacy of children's arts education at its 8th annual Children's Arts Award Benefit, to be held Monday, March 9 at Cipriani - Wall Street. The 2009 Children's Arts Awards will be presented to: Artist Honoree Julianna Margulies, Emmy-award winning actor; Media Honoree Rino Scanzoni, chief investment officer, GroupM North America & chairman - Mediaedge:cia North America; and Humanitarian Honorees Kathy Eldon (CEO and co-founder) and Amy Eldon Turteltaub, (executive vice president and co-founder) of Creative Visions Foundation.

Julianna Margulies Observes 'Folk Dance Residency' Students


Young Audiences New York (YANY) Children's Arts Award Honorees made a special visit to P.S. 46 in Upper Manhattan on January 7 to witness a dazzling dance performance by 7- and 8-year-old art students. YANY 2009 honorees Julianna Margulies, Emmy-Award winner; and Rino Scanzoni, Chief Investment Officer, GroupM North America & Chairman - Mediaedge:cia North America, spent the morning observing second grade students during the school's YANY 'Folk Dance Residency.' The honorees met with school administrators and received an in-depth look at the positive impact YANY arts programming has on children in the 180 New York City public schools the organization serves.

MCC THEATER presents its 2005 Spring Gala benefit, MISCAST, a star-studded musical revue featuring some of Broadway's biggest names singing show tunes from roles they would never, ever perform, on Monday, March 14 at Roseland 239 West 52nd Street. The evening, which honors Gerald Schoenfeld, chairman of The Shubert Organization, will feature performances by Ana Gasteyer, Jackie Hoffman, Andrea Martin, Steven Pasquale, Bruce Vilanch and Tom Wopat. Scott Wittman (co-creator of Hairspray) will direct.

WHAT OF THE NIGHT Starring Jane Alexander Begins Previews March 16


MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director, John G. Schultz, Executive Director), is proud to announce its third production of the 2004-2005 season: WHAT OF THE NIGHT, an American premiere based on the writings of Djuna Barnes, created for the stage by Jane Alexander, Noreen Tomassi, Birgitta Trommler, directed and choreographed by Ms. Trommler, and starring Ms. Alexander (The Great White Hope; Kramer vs. Kramer; Testament; The Sisters Rosenzweig). The production marks Trommler's New York directorial debut.

Schultz, Executive Director), one of New York City's leading Off-Broadway theater companies, will present 'ESCAPE: 6 WAYS TO GET AWAY,' a benefit evening of one-act plays written by Jon Robin Baitz (Ten Unknowns), John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation), Peter Hedges (What's Eating Gilbert Grape), Neil LaBute (The Mercy Seat), Tim Blake Nelson (The Grey Zone) and Wendy Wasserstein (The Heidi Chronicles). 'ESCAPE' will be held on Monday, December 6, 2004, 8pm at Broadway's CIRCLE IN THE SQUARE THEATER (1633 Broadway at West 50th Street, NYC).
