About Face Theatre kicks off Pride Weekend with AFT 20: A Celebration, an exciting evening of scenes, songs and rarely seen archival footage honoring AFT's incredible two decade long history as Chicago's premiere LGBTQIA theatre company. The one-night-only benefit will be held Friday, June 17 at 6 pm at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St. in Chicago. Tickets, which include performance and hors d'oeuvres with a cash bar available, are $50 and are currently available at aboutfacetheatre.com .
League of Chicago Theatres Welcomes New Board and Executive Committee Members
The League of Chicago Theatres proudly announces the election of the Executive Committee Members and the appointment of four new members to The Board of Directors. The Executive Committee includes Board Chair Kate Lipuma, Executive Director, Writers Theatre; Vice Chair Rachel Kraft, Executive Director, Lookingglass Theatre Company; Treasurer Heather Schmucker, Associate Producer, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre; and Secretary Dan McArdle, Managing Director, The Neo-Futurists. Elected by members of the League, newly-elected Board Members include Brittany Barnes, Managing Director, Pavement Group; Peter Handler, Program Director, Richard H. Driehaus Foundation; Bill Melamed, Chief Marketing and Development Officer, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; and Regina Taylor, Artistic Collective, Goodman Theatre.
Northwestern's AMTP to Workshop New Musical FOUND, with Book by Hunter Bell, 5/31
The American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will present two invited readings of the new musical 'Found' with book by Tony Award-nominated writer Hunter Bell and writer Lee Overtree, and music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin on Wednesday, May 29 and Friday, May 31, as part of the program's 'In The Works' initiative.

One month ago, 35 gifted lyricists, composers and librettists took up residency at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT for the first ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony to participate in an environment of discovery and inspiration. Working in teams and housed in specially constructed quintessential New England two story cottages each equipped with a piano, the teams worked on over 30 musicals during the course of the month. On Saturday February 16, the residency program concluded with a Salon as had been done each week featuring a sparkling sampler of new musicals that were worked on throughout the month. The closing night concert for the 2012 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project was held on Friday, June 23, 2012. For the seventh year, the Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project hosted the nation's most promising songwriters across all genres including music theatre, pop, jazz, rock, and contemporary pop at Northwestern University. Northwestern University's AMTP Presents THE VERONA PROJECT, 10/19-11/4
The American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University has selected award-winning writer and director Amanda Dehnert's THE VERONA PROJECT as its newest musical. Presented as the first show in the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University's 2012-13 Mainstage season, performances will take place from Oct. 19 through Nov. 4, at the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive, on the University's Evanston campus.

Windy City Gay Idol, now in its 10th year, is one step closer to crowning a Gay Idol. Don't miss the Semifinals today, June 2 at Sidetrack, 3349 N Halsted, with doors at 2 p.m., show at 3 p.m. The largest annual search for the best amateur gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered singers in the Chicago area continues, after ten preliminary events, with the top 23 finalists all competing for a spot in the Top Twelve at the Finals which will be held Saturday, June 16.

Faith Prince to Appear on Northwestern Stage 12/3
Faith Prince has won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for her role as Ms. Adelaide in the critically-acclaimed revival of 'Guys and Dolls.' On Dec. 3, Prince will present 'Total Faith,' a one-night only concert at Northwestern University.
