The Boston College Arts Council will present its 2022 Alumni Arts Award for Distinguished Achievement to Jeff Augustin, Class of 2008, an acclaimed and award-winning playwright and screenwriter whose plays have been performed at high-profile festivals and venues across the country. He will be on campus as the special alumni guest during the University's 24th annual Arts Festival, April 28-30, 2022, and participate in festival programming.

CBS announced today it has ordered COME DANCE WITH ME (working title), a family dance competition series executive produced by NCIS: LOS ANGELES stars LL COOL J and Chris O'Donnell and produced by CBS Television Studios and 3 Ball Productions.

A few weeks back, I attended the opening night of The Three Musketeers at Orlando Shakes. I marveled, in particular, at a rotating stage and staircase designed by Bert Scott. The way the production team used that stage always impressed me. Imagine my delight when I came back to Orlando Shakes for the opening weekend of HENRY IV, PART 1 and saw that same exact stage now being used to represent 1492 England rather than 1628 France. Part of it is my fault, I didn't know they'd be using the same stage and assumed another theatre space at Orlando Shakes would house HENRY IV. But now knowing that this same space was used for two plays got the wheels in my head turning. It's a genius move on Orlando Shakes' part, creating a very fitting double-feature of entertainment. The same cast, the same stage, but two wholly different stories unfold.

CBS announced today that it has renewed NCIS: NEW ORLEANS and NCIS: LOS ANGELES for the 2019-2020 season. The pickups follow the recent renewal of the original NCIS, also for next season.

The Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation (LAPMF) will hold a special benefit concert on Tuesday March 6 at Avalon Hollywood. The evening will begin with a performance by LA-based rock musicians Heaven & Earth. Steven Tyler and the Loving Mary Band will close the evening out.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced its 2017-18 Artists in Residence. 'I started the Artists in Residence program about 25 years ago to provide artistic and financial support to early-career artists, giving them a theatre to call home and to provide peace of mind for a sustainable career,' says Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes. 'Over the years, this program has evolved to include playwrights, mid-career directors and even an entire young company. CBS announced today that Nia Long has joined the cast of NCIS: LOS ANGELES as a series regular. She will be introduced in the ninth season premiere on Sunday, Oct. 1 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT).
