WHEN RADIO WAS KING - Monmouth Community Players

Monmouth Community Players to hold auditions for “When Radio was King”

The Monmouth Community Players are in search for talented acts to perform in their original 1940’s radio variety show “When Radio was King”. This production is being directed by Linda Duarte of Lewiston. Cindy Dunham of Winthrop will be he shows producer. Auditions will take place December 11th and 12th from 6:30-8pm at the historic Cumston Hall in downtown Monmouth.

Though several skits have already been chosen for this production, the director has opened up a contest to local playwrights for original work. If you have ever dreamt of writing your own play and seeing it performed live, dust off your computer keyboards and get to work. Skits must be between 10-15 minutes in length, and must be submitted to
linda.duarte@spi-global.com no later than December 21st, 2016. If your script is chosen as the winner, you will receive two tickets to the show.

Those interested in auditions should prepare 16 bars of a song to be performed with accompaniment. The production is looking for actors, musicians, singers and more to make this a truly unique experience for everyone involved. Please attend auditions if you are interested in being a part of this show. If you are unable to attend, contact Linda directly to make alternative arrangements.

The show will be performed at the historic Cumston Hall February 16-19, 2017 at 7:30 pm Thursday to Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday. Tickets are $14 for General Admission and $12 for Students and Seniors. More information on this production can be found on MCP’s website at
