Performances: August 5, 6, 7 and 12, 13, 14
Rehearsals begin after May 29th

Schedules: Rehearsal schedules will be available at the first rehearsal. Please note all schedule conflicts on the audition form.

Audition Information: Please be prepared to stay as long as needed to ensure that you have completed the audition. We will be as efficient as possible, but you may have some waiting time. You will be asked to do the following: Please prepare a 32 bar cut from a Broadway musical. Accompaniment will be provided. Please no tapes or CDs.

Dance Audition: you will be taught a short dance combination. Please bring clothes to dance in .

Roles:
Tony: ( tenor Bb4- Bb2) 17 -25 Tony has been the leader of the Jets, but has outgrown the Jets. He is best friends with Riff. He is now trying to find his place in life. He falls in love with Maria.

Riff: (tenor G4 -Bb2) 17 -25 Is the current leader of the Jets. A good leader, he is trying to look out for his friends a midst the growing tensions with the Sharks. He is decisive and cool .


Maria: (soprano C6-Bb3) 16 -25 Is Bernardo's sister and Tony's love interest. She was brought to America by Bernardo to marry his friend Chino. Lovely and obedient immigrant Puerto Rican girl, excited and enthusiastic about her new like in America. Innocent.


Anita: (mezzo D5-F3) 18-30 Is Bernardo's girlfriend and a good friend to Maria. Feisty and hot blooded, she loves her life in America with Bernardo and is keen to look out for Maria. She is wiser in the ways of the world, flashy, sharp tongues and with a knowing sexuality.


Bernardo: 18-30 (Baritone Eb4 -Bb2) the leader of the Sharks and Maria's brother. Like Riff, he is a good leader and also trying to look out for his people in the rising tension. Is also very caring for his family but not hot headed.


Chino: 16-25 One of the member of the Sharks. Maria's hot-tempered suitor, Bernardo's best friend. Kills Tony.


Action :16-25(baritone) One of the member of the Jets. The most quick-tempered member of the Jets, always ready for a fight.


Anybodys: 14-16 Is a girl trying to join the Jets but can't because of her gender. Dancer. A Tagalog tomboy, eventually accepted into the gang after Riff's death .


Schrank 30-50: Is a local police Lieutenant. A stern man, he is trying to get rid of the problems arising from competing gangs. Not many people like him.


b40-60s Is a kind man who runs the drugstore where Tony works. He isn't part of their gang either and tries to be impartial goings on.


Officer Krupke: 30-50sIs a police officer working for Lt. Schrank. Not a very smart man. As Scharank's bulldog, both the Jets and the Sharks make trouble for him.


Diesel : 16-25(Baritone)One of the member of the Jets. Second-in-command of the Jets. Takes over as leader after Riff's death.


Baby John : 14 -16(Baritone) of the member of the Jets. The youngest Jet, who is beaten up during the opening sequence. A-Rab's best friend.


A-Rab:15 -18(Baritone) One of the member of the Jets. Slightly less quick tempered than Action. Baby John's best friend.


Snowboy: 16-25(Baritone) Bespectacled, self-styled expert.


Velma : 16 -25(Mezzo-Soprano) Riffs girlfriend. She is young, slithery, sexy and lost in a world of love.


Graziella:16-25( Mezzo-Soprano) Diesel's girlfriend, impressed with herself.


Pepe :16-25 (Baritone) Lieutenant to Bernardo. Typically proud and resentful of discrimination.


Consuelo: 16-25 ( Mezzo-Soprano) works in bridal shop with Maria.

Rosalinda:16-25( Mezzo-Soprano) Anitas best friend .Sings in America with Anita .


Glad Hand: 30-60 Nerdy, overly cheerful and ill-equipped social director at the local gym dance.
