The Tiny Mustache, an original musical workshop based and inspired on actual events which took place in the Youth Opera Company at the Nazi propaganda camp Terezin in 1944. Book by Steven Fialkoff, Music & Lyrics by Eliot Bailen, Directed by Rick Grossman.

AUDITIONS: 9/7 10-5 Sign up begins 9:45 Lunch 1-2 Pearl Studios 500 8th Ave. New York, NY Rm. 1211 Prepare 16-32 measures of a contemporary musical theater piece. An accompanist will be provided.

REHEARSALS: As of 10/5-- 2 week days 12-4 Tech/performance 11/9 at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space (Brdwy & 95th St.)

STIPEND: $300.00

ALL ROLES OPEN and all ethnicities encouraged to attend. Looking for actors 18-25 to portray age ranges of 16-18.

BREAKDOWN:
MR. KATZ 45-60 Jewish director of the opera co. and a father figure who has endured suffering and heartbreak. Comic instinct a +! Baritone

SCHAEFER 17-18 He performs with the co. as well as being its handyman. A romantic and a dreamer. Baritenor

SARA 15-17 A self confident young Jewish lady. Very smart and cunning. Soprano

ABBY 17-18 She is a writer and performer. Underneath her positive nature is a true sensitivity. Alto

HANS 17-18 A Danish-Czech Jew performer who is not so confident and sometimes has tantrums. Good with physical comedy. Tenor

HELEN 16-18 A non typical Jewish girl confident, sassy and vulnerable. Mezzo

FRANZ 40-60 Czech/Nazi supervisor of the theater and activities in Terezin. Franz is a bit torn between service and the morality of what is happening. High Baritone

ROLF 18-21 A wounded German soldier now a guard overseeing Katz and others. Baritenor

VICTOR VEILER 25-35 The SS officer in charge of Public Relations. He can be charming while also showing the terror and ugliness of the time. High Tenor
