The Redhouse Arts Center Announces Auditions for the 2014/2015 Season
 
Redhouse Arts Center Inc. is excited to announce audition dates for its 2014/2105 season. Auditions will take place on March 23 and 24, 2014 in the rehearsal studio next door to the Redhouse Theater, 201 S. West St. Syracuse, NY 13202. Appleseed Productions and Rarely Done Productions will also be auditioning for their seasons during these days.
 
Equity and non-Equity actors of all ages are welcome.
 
Actors should prepare one comedic monologue and 16 bars of a song of their choice. A pianist will be provided. Non-singers are welcome to audition with the monologue only. The Redhouse practices color-blind casting. All ethnicities and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to attend.
 
Please bring a resume and headshot. If you do not have a headshot, a photo will be taken upon your arrival.

As part of the summer season, Redhouse Education (RedEd) offers two audition-only summer theatrical institutes that perform with Tarzan and Godspell. Students who are interested in participating are encouraged to audition on March 23 or 24th. To schedule an audition, email casting@theredhouse.org and specify you are auditioning for the theatrical institutes. If you cannot attend either audition day, email Education Director Marguerite Mitchell at marguerite@theredhouse.org to schedule an alternative audition. Video submissions are permitted for the theatrical institutes only.

 

Theatrical Institute: Level One
Redhouse Theatrical Institute is a month-long intensive drama and music camp where students are completely immersed in the exciting work of theatre and the building blocks of performance. Throughout the process, students will not only spend time in class focusing on the fundamentals of performance, but will tour all over the Adirondacks with professional actors, performing the full-length theatrical production of Tarzan! Students will then return to Syracuse to give encore performances for local audiences on The Redhouses main stage.

Adirondack Tour: July 17 - 24
Cost: $1000/$900 members
 
Advanced Theatrical Institute: Level Two
Redhouse Theatrical Institute’s Level 2 camp is a month-long intensive drama and music camp where students experience  . Students will be cast alongside professionals in order to put on a production of Godspell that is part of Redhouse’s regular summer season tour!
