Children’s Auditions forThe Nutcracker. José Mateo Ballet Theatre invites aspiring young performers of all ages to audition for the performance opportunity of a lifetime! The Company has embarked on a state-wide search for 200 talented children to fill 3 casts in roles ofParty Children, Mice, Soldiers, Angels, Court Attendants,Polichinelles,and the lead child role,Clara.
This holiday season performances ofThe Nutcrackerwill take place at The Cutler MajesticTheatre in Boston’s historic Theatre District and Dorchester’s Strand Theatre, November 25-December 18, 2016. All children cast in the production will perform at both theaters.
WANTED:
Children and teenagers ages 6*-18
*Previous dance experience is not required for children ages 6-10

Cuban-born José Mateo is Founder and Artistic Director of José Mateo Ballet Theatre, one of America ’s leading producers of new ballets, and the area’s most innovative school for quality ballet training. Founded in 1986, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre’s highly acclaimed Company regularly presents Mateo’s innovative vision of classical ballet at its stunning Sanctuary Theatre in its home at the Old Cambridge Baptist Church in Harvard Square , Cambridge .
